Does scaruffi hate the British? Aside from guys like Robert Wyatt his favorite musicians are guys like bob dylan, velvet underground, captain beefheart, Jim Morrison
All american.
He hates the Beatles, Black sabbath, britpop, he thinks David Bowie is garbage
And all these bands are British
All his favorite albums are american or german
Do Italians hate the British?

He's an Italian-Immigrant, he's probably one of those unapologetic Ameriboos

Can't argue with that.
America has an objectively better artistic output. Logical given it has a much broader market and so many more people of many more different backgrounds.
The UK doesn't have a spectrum comparable to that of a Lou Reed to a Miles Davis. They're all of the same flavor over there. The US has a lot more genre diversity, namely because of the contribution of African-americans, a significant portion of their historical populace. UK culture is more homogenous. They plundered little from their overseas colonies that would be become part of their domestic cultural canon, they weren't a melting pot as the US de facto were.

Cont.
So naturally, innovation (greatly valued in art criticism) would come more often than not from the US, so it would certainly be more genuine and less commercial. The UK had great blues players but they were merely that, not bluesmen. Not that they were bad, but they weren't the primary drivers in this specific artistic development of rock. As in blues so in many other subgenres. In the end, the british were consistently trend-hoppers, not setters, and often lacked an understanding of the nuance which made their innovating counterparts great.

I think the spectrum to that of henry cow to autechre to my bloody valentine is pretty good
miles davis and lou reed sucks

All of those are mere touch ups on much more fundamental american innovations. They all have their counterparts much more defining than them in the US.

I’ll leave it to music historians to identify the albums that gave rise to musical movements, none of that matters to me when it comes to choosing my favourite albums. Anyway, I also think that the beatles and david bowie suck.

Sure, but the question itt was why Scaruffi seems to rate americans higher, and that's because he values innovation pretty much above all else.
