There's a Ray of Light Windows XP advert but I think Skin off that album probably fits too

Define "early internet". Late 80s? Early 90s? Late 90s? Early 2000s? Late 2000s? It's all different.

Maybe not that early, but...

I remember the other day talking to someone about how there's no way Gen Z would survive late 90s/early 2000s internet because even if you ignore how slow dial-up was (and most people still used dial-up until the mid-2000s mind you) the ads and popups were easily worse than today and OS' like Windows 98-XP were actively trying to brick themselves the second you got onto the internet without a proper antivirus (something that really didn't even exist yet, most antiviruses on the market back then acted more like viruses themselves. Windows Defender did exist IIRC, or at least one early iteration of it, but it really wasn't good like it is today. I just think it's funny how pissy Zoomers get over ads on Youtube, there's no way they'd survive being bombarded with popup ads that delivered endless trojans to their computer back in the day. Nowadays you don't even really need ad block unless you go on a particularly shitty website and even then it's mostly just to block those annoying redirects.
