They're fun and weird. It seems like half of people are saying they're the most amazing new band and the other half are hating on them for being a gimmick band, and I think both sides are dumb tbqh. I don't think what they're doing is amazing, but I think it's decently interesting, I just see them as a new band in the lineage of stuff like Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Devo, The Residents, Primus, Magma, etc.

I find it weird as a montrealer that these guys blew up globally. Noise/math/postrock etc "hipster music" has always been popular here. To me these guys are like so many plateau-mile end bands over the decades accept for the costumes.
