It became cool to be a kiddie.Interesting that towards the end of the 90s, early 00s, anime started becoming very popular in the West. Until then it was mostly some weird thing from Japan.And then a lot of millennial culture from the 00s also had this kiddie jocular vibe, with people dressing like teens, making faces.Fast forward to late 2010s and the 2020s and a lot of culture is steeped in anime themes and you have trannies surgically composing an image of themselves as a little girl.There's way more to this, thuogh, as a lot of millennial-era stuff was retro and it was like we were collectively trying to rewind our memories to reach back to the moment when things went bad and that would explain how we got to that point. There was a sort of collective anamnesis in millennial culture and the retro thing was the backdrop against all that happened.
