It's fun. They basically turned industrial into party music. Old school purists obviously prefer bands like Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten, Cabaret Voltaire, and SPK, new school hipsters prefer Godflesh, Author & Punisher, and Uniform, and plebs prefer Nine Inch Nails, and Rammstein, but KMFDM, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, and Ministry basically made industrial fun.

Really? I'm a millennial so if you're younger maybe they've become less popular, but I'm American and my Hungarian friend and all his friends love NIN. And while I said plebs love NIN, desu I love them too, it's just that they're the biggest band in the genre so everyone knows them. Of the bands I listed, I love Einstürzende Neubauten, SPK, Godflesh, Author & Punisher, Uniform, and NIN, and I like Rammstein and Cabaret Voltaire decently as well.
