At what point is a collection of notes a chord regarding their timing? I can hear a rolled chord and hear the unity as if it were played all at once, many music chord libraries will play itself rolled to emphasize the individual notes while at the same time letting you hear it as a collective chord. Even in arpeggios if played quick enough I can "feel" the chords. Is there some threshold or agreed upon speed that my ears will discern a chord vs just playing parts of a scale?

I was kind of thinking this myself maybe Chords are just hemisemidemiquasihemisemidemiquasihemisemidemiquasihemisemidemiquavers

According to the official technical definition, the notes must be separated by 0.5 seconds or less

i think people on average process two sounds as simultaneous if their delay is less than 2 ms. so maybe its that
