Is this really the greatest album of all time?
flash in the pan
>>130735665Not even top 500.
>>130735665No, but Lauryn Hill was a good R&B singer and rapper, and she was pretty. It's decent
>>130735665its not even the best record associated with the fugees
>>130735665In Australia, I have never heard a single person mention the name Lauryn Hill or heard anyone play a song from this album. Seeing this come up as #1 on Apple Music top 100 must be like what Americans felt like with hearing about Robbie Williams for the first time with his movie
>>130735665Hell no. Apple Music was trying to gain brownie points with black women or some shit. It's a good album that I get putting in the top 100. Lauryn Hill is clearly talented at both singing and rapping. But my problem with it is that it just sounds dated and the songs go on for 1-2 minutes too long. It insists upon itself
>>130735665No. But it's very good
>>130735665No, but you can claim it is if you're retarded and/or have a certain agenda to push.
>>130735665Not in the slightest, but it is a very good and enjoyable album regardless. Don't listen to /mu/fags, I'm surprised the first post isn't calling Lauryn Hill a nigger to begin with.
>>130735665Excellent album, but nah.
>>130735665baduizm mogs it
MTV Unplugged 2.0 [Columbia, 2002]Probably not the worst album ever released by an artist of substance--there are all those Elvis soundtracks. But in the running. Full-length double-CD of wordy strophic strolls that often last six, seven, eight minutes, accompanied solely by a solo guitar Hill can barely strum (the first finger-picked figure occurs on track 10, where it repeats dozens upon dozens of times, arghh). Unlike Hill herself, who during one of many spoken-word breaks tells the adoring multitude that her singing voice has been roughed up by a late night (but not how weak it is when she gets her eight hours), the melodies do not assert themselves. Inspirational Patter: "Every single one of these songs is about me first." Makes them realer, aight? D-
>>130735665Its the best female rap album of all time
>>130736565would you believe in 2002 it was still permissible to criticize this album? in 2016 he would be instantly cancelled for daring to slime a stronk woman of color.
>>130735707The Score>>> is your position I take it?>>130735755Good take. Anyway if I'm gonna suck up to black women I'm taking Alice Coltrane-Ptah the El Daoud over this.
>>130735665No, but it's good. I'm one of the few who will vouch for her Unplugged album over this, though.
>>130735665no, it's overrated because she's black
>>130735707I know something that's got more vocab than three fucking fugees
>>130735665not even Top 100i wondered myself and re-listened a year ago. very disappointed.
>>130735759when's the last time you listened the whole thing?yeah, thought so.
>>130736488this is true even though Erykah is a racist cunt who broke my heartnot taking questions bye
>>130735665no not really
