Modern power metal is fucking terrible. What happened?
>>130762582I'm 46 now, I went through like a 2 year period in my early 20's where I loved power metal..... it sounds horrible now when I hear it, like what the fuck was my problem to ever think this trash was good music.
Power metal has traditionally been awful. Delve into USPM, as it's the only form of power metal that matters.
>>130762582This album's 25 years old, are you using this as an example of the good shit or the bad shit
>>130762582All the good musicians are old. No one young has anything new to say within the genre. The genre is too optimistic for current times. It has its head in the clouds. It's an insincere genre. Young people are critically attuned to cringe. They can't stomach the possibility of a woman or brown person cringing at them.
>>130762582>power metal is fucking terrible. Correct. It always was.>What happened? You suddenly developed good taste? I couldn't really say.
>>130762582The only good power metal band is Blind Guardian, and Manilla Road for USPM
For me it's Galneryus.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IE5HAVaiqI
>>130762582power metal stopped innovating after the early-mid 2000s and never really had a surge of bands with new ideas like black metal or death metal does every 5-10 years.you get cool power metal albums from the 2010s and probably 2020s, don't get me wrong, but power metal's just reiterating on itself. there's no new subgenre or new sound, everything's either "rhapsody but more technical" or "USPM with death growls" or "thing previous band did but executed better"
>>130762582>metal>ever good
>>130763896>insincereIt's one of the only genuinely sincere genres because it's so positive and uplifting, you can't fake thatSome bullshit like Brat where it pretends it's too cool to care yet was carefully crafted by a board group is insincereKing Crimson is insincere, crying about material objects while being millionaires
HEART OF AN EAGLE HE FLIES THROUGH THE RAINBOW
>>130764260Oh and I forgot to add I'm trans btw. If that matters
>>130762582That album is 25 years old
