WEW so last night they played a free outdoor show here in montreal at the jazz fest in downtownOne Hundred Thousand People crowded everywhere to see the meme band. The stage is tiny but you could hear them far, there was screens set up in some places. Shits insane It was basically impossible to see the stage unless you showed up hours before the show started. The university 2 streets away from the stage has massive projectors that they blast stuff on their walls with. Take a guess what this 20 floor building was covered in. Plus some other projectors on other buildings. Crowd was rather tame tho kinda sad, was hoping to see some scary ass sardine death moshpits. Riffs and hooks went the way of the dinosaur as did being able to rock the fuck out on your double guitar and drum kit. But then AdP shows up out of nowhere and resurrects it with their own flavor. We are in a technical music drought. You have to take a dive into classical and jazz guitar to find anything remotely close to AdP. Feel how you've got to feel about them but then ask when is the last time you or your favorite famous act put on a show and the fans said, damn, those guys can really play their instruments. A lot of people are intimidated by a high skill classical or jazz show, if they can even find one. AdP is much more accessible to the masses. If they ever do comedy cartoons they need to do one where they resurrect technical playing.
