No, not exactly. But there were always faggots, and commies in the scene to some extent. They used to be a bit more subtle back in the day, but that was the culture at large. It's literally impossible for zoomers, and maybe even younger millennials to understand but like, politics was NOT that big of a deal before Obama. Like it was not a massive part of the culture.
Like in the punk/hardcore scene In my city people would say slurs, and make offensive jokes. Homophobia was very normal, even though some of us had faggot friends. Also everyone was White, and a male. The whole scene was White, like maybe there'd be a puerto rican kid,or two, but my state was still like 90% White, or atleast felt like it. There were a few chicks, but most of them were just there because there boyfriend was playing that night.

I mean, depends on where you lived. I think, also it depended on what type of music you were going to. Punk was anti whatever was the current system. When I was a teen it was Reagan. But like, lots of us were homophobic and racist to some degree. I was a skinhead, and so were most of my friends, but we also had non-skinhead friends that called people faggots, and made fun of blacks and mexicans. IDK.
Mind you, this was in O.C. ,I have no idea what it was like in The Bay Area or Seattle back than.
