between him and Trump they could get a tie knotted at the right length. grim.
>>130794176why do Millennials think Nirvana and SP were "rivals"?it wasn't like that, then.Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam were regarded as much more commercial and "careerist" (Cobain's term), whereas Nirvana wanted to be more like The Melvins.
Billy, you posting here to puff yourself up is even less cool than the NWA's booking.
>>130794207>it wasn't like that, then.yeah it was. I'm 43, when Kurt died the only alternative was Bill Corgan, those other bands were collaborative, Nirvana and SP were the only big bands that were essentially solo projects. And Corgan was the heir apparent

>>130794176Billy Corgans music has held up better than anything cobain did thoughbeit

Tame implala covered Hummer the other day.

>>130794207lmao, dude, nothing was more commercial in the 90s than nirvana. the only reason they weren't the biggest sellouts of the generation is because they had nothing to sell out... they were nothing and boom they exploded. probably industry plants.also what you have to understand is that none of this was lumped together as rock, alt rock, or grunge. SP was completely different and soundgarden was completely different and collective soul was completely different and etc the list goes on... none of these bands competed in any space, because they encompassed the entire space... thats all that there was if you were white and not a wigger, so bands like SP were at an entirely different end of the spectrum of music, not just rock or grunge or alt rock. Now we put them all in the same category as like some kind of 90's grunge/altrock but back then it was the entirety of what was popular at the time. When Billy talks about his jealous/competitive streak w/his contemporaries like Cobain, you have to understand that none of us saw or knew any of that side of the curtain back then. They were all separate, not a part of some larger organism like we view it today
i met Ed Kowalzyxk lead singer of Live a few years ago. he said Billy Corgan told him somewhere back in the 90's that he could have wrote and recorded Throwing Copper better but Ed could never have made Mellon Collie. this was all unprompted to..walked up to Ed and shook his hand with a shit eating grin ready to spew his ego.
