Do you still (illegally) download music despite streaming services being extremely cheap? Why?I do. I get a thrill out of it. Plus actually "owning" the stuff and playing them on players that are actually better than Sporify and so on feels good.Won't divulge how I do it though.
I haven't paid for music since the year of our lord 2001.
I purchase all of the music to which I listen.
i use a large space ipod and have like 30k+ songs on it so yeah I like not having to give a fuck about spotify, i've never used it but I know for a fact that multiple things I listen to aren't on there. I've almost filled my first ipod and I actually have 2 which both had the same library but now I'm thinking on having one ipod have 1 library versus another and I think that sounds like it could be kinda fun. God bless slsk
when i seed torrents i feel like Jesus when he multiplied the loaves and the fishes
i pay for spotify and use slsk for anything that isn't on spotify
>>130796506I don't like the idea of music that I forget after listening, so to find it again, I need to scroll through my list with likes
>>130796506cause the music i want to listen to isn't available on streaming services
>>130797039like what?
>>130796506>actually "owning" the stuffYea okay lemme take a magnet to your pc and see whats what
>>130796506Yes, I do.>despite streaming services being extremely cheapStill too expensive for a poorfag like me.Also,>>130797039somewhat this. There's a lot of music I like that is not on streaming services.
I use foobar2000 32bits with the 2SF Decoder (foo_input_vio2sf) to listen to some Nintendo DS sountracks.I use foobar to convert some downloaded audio files in FLAC format to OPUS so It sounds well without taking much space.I also use YT-DLP to download songs on youtube that aren't available to download anywhere else. I use this command to download in opus 128k (highest quality audio on youtube) and keep the thumbnail:yt-dlp -f bestaudio[acodec=opus] --remux-video opus --embed-metadata --embed-thumbnail <URL>Fuck them subscription services, fuck internet connection. I want my files, with my encoders, on my players, with my metadata, on my drives, on my terms.

Yeah, licensing stuff that stops me from being able to listen to good music legally anyway. Lots of acts seem to not care about my region or think anyone here would be listening to them
>>130796506YesBecause a lot of extreme metal and hardcore punk I listen to isn't on streaming, my data runs out regularly and I like to have offline copies of everything
