I recently started writing music for fun, but I can barely get four lines into writing a song without reading it back and cringing to myself. How do I power through this?
>>130800155If Beyonce can shit out "run the world", you can do anything.
>>130800155You don't. Lyrics are gay and so is music. You either accept it and run with the delusion or you don't. Remember- music is for teenagers and stunted adults.
You rework them until you cringe the least.
>>130800155Maybe it's just that YOUR lyrics are cringe
>>130800155Post lyrics
most lyrics are stupid by default, it's the production, singing, and music that elevates them
>>130800197good to see you back
>>130800155>write a draft>ask ai to review iteasy
>>130800155Listen to Ronnie James DioHis lyrics make no sense at all but sound like some deep shit on the surface

1. Write more2. Bee urself: write your experiences, ideas that obsess you, try to avoid cliches, pull from sources you admire besides other lyrics (poetry, movies, etc)3. Write more
>>1308001551. Keep writing, if you recently started your stuff probably is below what you want and needs more practice.2. Do exercises like clustering, it'll help you figure out where your brain naturally goes and give you material to practice with.3. Read out loud music lyrics you like and writ them down yourself. Almost all lyrics work in the context of the music and sound pretty bad if you just read them out loud, this doesn't mean they're bad just that it'll help if you think of them as rhythm and notes in addition to "quality writing."4. Try to develop concepts. structures and outlines first.
>>130800155You are projecting your own negative hyper-critical worldview. The key to stop feeling cringe about yourself is to stop feeling cringe about other people first.
