>I MET HER AT THE BURGER KING
>FELL IN LOVE BY THE SODA MACHINE

How do you fall in love with a random girl at a burger king?

I thought the Ramones were based, but all these love songs make it clear they're not the volcel chads I was hoping for.

people actually went outside in the 80s and the inside of fast food restaurants were generally more crowded than they are today where everyone just takes the drive-thru

The Ramones are probably my favorite band of all time.
This album, is fucking important to me. It was the first LP I actually bought with my own money. I was a pretty werid kid, I really didn't like 99% of 70s music. I thought the classic rock sucked besides Black Sabbath.

oh but when blink 182 falls in love at a rock show it's based? yeah whatever dude

The Ramones lyrics were a mix of schizo shit and 60s teenybopper fantasies.
Joey Ramone invented the universe that Stephen King and 1000 horror movie makers copied.

They are a band I do think a lot of people are wrong and right about. Very easy to dismiss the old pot belly guys who fawn over them as the greatest thing ever, very easy to be cynical of mainstream success, easy to miss Joey being a hard ass, it’s almost Faustian they all basically died to never being real old. Run a punk band like a business when everybody else’s band is a lot more disposable and you get to be a king. Also helped that they were good at what they did. I used to be so cynical and thought they were corny but really “getting” it, changed my whole mind on them and I get why people really love them

I met a hot scene girl at BK, unfortunately I thought my eating disorder was 'normal' so didn't understand why she looked disgusted when I ordered 2 bacon double cheeseburgers, a whopper, a chicken royale, fries, onion rings and an XL fanta, I then farted which made her more frosty...she left after giving me her number, when I called it it was a local Starbucks

I just don't like the look of Schott leather jackets because they're not long enough. They looked good on Marlon Brando cos he was about 5 foot 7, but on Joey Ramone it looked like he was wearing children's sizes. Plus they were expensive as fuck, so hardly very punk.

I didn't fully appreciate them until I got older, they seemed too corny when I was a dumb kid. Now I accept them as the greatest American band

The Dictators were better and I’ll die on that hill

I agree for sure. They aren't perfect by any means, but like, they were really fucking fun. How many Punk bands are actually fun to listen to? yeah exactly.
From the Ramones I got into so much other stuff too. I loved all the new york bands.
