Trap is a subgenre of rap which is itself a genre of storytelling and self-expression and emotional manipulation and pop.

Hip-hop is a genre of technical poetics and literary virtuousity.

The backing tracks are definitely music and also irrelevant to the artforms. You can rap over dubstep; you can rap over metal. It doesn't matter. Rap and Hip-Hop are about the vocal delivery, and if screaming is music then there's no reason why rapping doesn't qualify.
