Just shut up nigga
>>
>>130816039
People are turning on him brutally after the halsey shit lmao get fucked nerd, long time coming
>>
>>130816039
The Fantano situation just got WORSE...
>>
>>130816542
That shit is like a year old. Why do people care about it now?
>>
>>130816551
Halsey has been whining about the industry at large in her latest press run (le perils of being a popstar!!11!!) and people are sympathizing with her understandably. She mentioned Fantano and it emboldened some of his haters to talk shit on too and that in turn emboldened a lot of other people who just dislike him dispassionately as 'the weird bald dude from youtube who's gay about music' to make fun of him

He's always had mid tastes. Got his takes from here and was caught several times slipping. Ezra Klein was right btw

Ezra Marcus
thats who i meant lol
The guy who wrote the Fader article
>>
the funny thing is, fantano is technically correct when it comes to the halsey "drama" but because he's one of the most obnoxious people on the internet i'm actively rooting for it to lead to his ultimate downfall. (in all likelihood it will blow over in a month, sadly)
>>
>>130816542
Most people agreed with Fantano vs Hasley
>>
>>130816542
>>130816574
Isn't Halsey a literal prostitute with 0 mainstream appeal?
>>
>>130816542
To be I'm of the opinion they're both awful. Its like deciding whether you want to puked on or shat on.
>>
>>130817559
He recently got flamed by his audience for accepting a BetterHelp sponsorship, there was a point where every comments section was referencing it, but since he didn't address it basically everyone's forgotten about it now. Same shit as him doing a podcast with Sam Hyde, every attempt at cancelling him just bounces right off his shiny bald head
>>
>>130818066
I seem to recall Anthony before the Fader saga expressing gratitude for not having to take sponsorships or open a patreon. Then he gets a little taste of cancellation and suddenly he's whoring himself out in every direction.
>>
I never liked Fantano when i realized he was being kind of a poser pleb about lots of extreme metal music
>>
Is keemstar going to talk about this?
>>
>>130818088
It's moreso the fact he's constantly pumping out videos on his side channel where he acts morally superior to Spotify and AI companies and whatever else, I don't think it'd be a big deal if he wasn't always so high and mighty about scummy business practices
>>
>>130816542
millennials are unfunny uncs now, it was about time that the swan song act of the musical 'elitist' sensibilities was discarted unceremoniously
>>
The sad part is he's kind of right.
>>
>>130818290
No one gives a fuck about music criticism. It's like 10 times less relevant than film criticism which is already irrelevant. Normalfags just listen to what's pushed on radio/streaming. Hipsters (a tiny group of people at this point) listen to big names releasing something new.
>>
>>130818304
The claim wasn't about how the average person sees music criticism, it's that he's basically the most well-known music critic ever, which is true
>>
>>130818342
It's true but it says more about music criticism itself than about Fantano.
>>
>>130818304
people dont care what fantano says but they care about the “space” that music critics provide. Talking about music is just a social thing
>>
It's baffling how many people are seething and malding over this, despite not caring about Halsey's shit music, and also despite melon being 100% right about everything. Where does the energy for this even come from? Because melon is woke?
>>
>>130818169
You think music elitism was millenials? That was boomers. Millenials are into poptimism and anti-elitism and post-sincere 2000s nostalgia.

What exactly makes him so relevant and impactful? Sounds like he looks at his social media analytics a little too much to be honest. Artists at large don't live and die by a Fantano review; maybe an indie band will get a little boost in reach if he talks about them, but he's not making and breaking artists. Most relevant and popular artists happened without his input. Music internet isn't waiting with bated breath for when he drops a review. I know more people that check out P4K for a score than pay attention to what this guy has to say.

The only people that watch this dude are people who need their hand held and be told the music they like is cool.
>>
>>130820034
Fantano should rock a goatee instead of that chinstrap/neck beard combo
>>
>>130819983
>What exactly makes him so relevant and impactful?
The fact that when you ask anyone to name a music critic Fantano is the only name they can think of.

no, because Antony whored himself out to zoomer rap fans for clicks on youtube. He attempts to sound street and "with it".

his weightlifting thing is another example of Fantano overcompensating. tries to act like some kinda tough guy. the list goes on and on. he can give a decent interview and provides some insight rarely, but he's also stiff and full of himself often. It is distracting.

Seems like he's an Adderall fiend as well. Delusions of grandeur big time
>>
>>130819983
he's the only recognizable person still doing it and has a solid brand image as a youtuber. music critics are pretty much outmoded and worthless at this point, you don't even have to click off youtube to just listen to whatever bullshit he's talking about yourself. his opinion doesn't matter at all. but again, you'd be hard pressed to have someone under 40 name another music journalist for you. it's him and a bunch of conde nast hack writers indistinguishable from google gemini

Literally who?
