Maybe if you were a boomer that was in high school at the time they were big but like, overall not a band that after seemed interesting. I think Jim Morrison dying young is the main thing that kept them legendary. I think Black Flag are still popular among hardcore kids, they certainly know what it is. The other bands? the clash only have one good album, AC/DC are fucking boring and pointless to me. I was a teenager in the 80s and they were still somewhat popular. I didn't get the appeal. All the metalheads I knew fucking loved them, I guess it's about exposure. I had a cool older brother who actually had taste, so my earliest music memories are tied to bands like The Stooges, MC5, The sonics, and the seeds. Also my cousin was into like British bands like UFO, so that was what I heard in the 70s.
Sonic Youth's the only band I care about there. Pixies and Flaming Lips are alright sometimes.
