load > black album > reload > st anger

I've been said this. Look, their 80s output can't be beat I don't think that's even up for debate but I am very fond of all their 90s stuff, even creeping into the new millennium with St Anger. All within my hands is a great song

Studio albums + Covers albums + Live albums, you have alot of great stuff to listen to

Why does nothing else sound like this?

Love it or loathe it, Metallica's Black Album going Double Diamond is an achievement held by no other Metal band.

Neither Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Dio, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Mötley Crüe, Scorpions, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer nor any other leading Metal band came close. Metallica stands alone, and that's saying something.

yeah it's good. Load/reload/st anger have their moments but black is pretty much the last great metallica album for me
There's people who check out after ride the lightning, there's some that check out after and justice, and some who never checked out (probably). Metal fans are just incredibly picky, sometimes I swear they like specific distortion pedals more than the bands that use them

just set up a filter for nineveh and move on like the rest of us

It does say something: mediocre. They put out a mediocre album in order to appeal to the broadest amount of people, thus selling the amount needed to get to that level.

You only like it because its qualityslop

Ironically the Black album coincides with them running out of Dave Musitane riffs.
That's why everything after is trash.
>>
I like it

It's very safe. Nothing Else Matters is a remarkable ballad at least. Honestly, the only post-80s Metallica that is halfway interesting to think about is St. Anger. Bold choices were made on that one, that's for sure.
>>
It's a fine album but it's only so so metal.

>GOING TO SLEEP IS... LE SCARY!!!
Walmart band

My Friend of Misery and Struggle Within are legitimate bangers. I’m good with never hearing the rest of the album ever again as long as I live.

if a band is on metal archives, it's metal!
who agrees?

I really like Wherever I May Roam, Sad But True, Unforgiven

I mean it isn't terrible, it's commercial corporate pop rock. It came out right at the perfect time, just before grunge exploded. I honestly don't think this record would have been big if it had come out after nevermind.
Same with GNR, They have one good album but like, it isn't shit you're pants good. Some good hard rock songs, but it's not even as good as the first wasp, or the first two Crue records.

Metallica sux

It's a bad 'Tellica album, but the worst album by them is still alllot better than most other music
>>
it's the season 10 of Metallica
it's the good version of the bad thing they made from then on
>>
Every 'tallica alb' is good for diff' reasons.

"Enter Sandman" got a headstart but the other hits were big during and after Nirvana. "Grunge" completely destroying all other music is an exaggerated media narrative.

It's just buttrock. I think its mostly fine, not offensive, but like, not interesting at all.
I think Metallica as a band are very overrated. Four good albums, and a bunch of sloppa. Gen Xers were kinda gay in a lot of ways, there love for this band over like Overkill, or fucking Bloodfeast is a big part of that. Hirax are also a better band than Metallica.

the st. [b]anger remix is unironically a really, really good album.
