i'm somewhat new to metal but i've listened to a good lot of albums before but this one stands out solely due to the technicality of it. idk how to describe it. the intro of this album is reminiscent of NSV. i'd argue that it might even be better.

"Real Wigger Slam" only consists of the Myscape Wigger Slam scene and the New York Death Metal Scene. What is known by ""Wigger" Slam" is nothing but Deathcore with questionable real Wigger Slam influence. When people try to argue that bands like Internal Bleeding are not real Wigger Slam, while saying that INFECTIOUS JELQING is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake Wigger Slam as The Slamburglars (plus the autism). Real Wigger Slam sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake Wigger Slam is weak, corny and a failed attempt to direct energy and swag into music. Some examples of REAL WIGGER SLAM are Epicardiectomy, Repudilation, Entorturement, Necrofuckphilia and New Yorkment . Some examples of FAKE WIGGER SLAM are INFECTIOUS JELQING, ARSENY and BOLTCUTTER. WIGGER SLAM BELONGS TO BRUTAL DEATH METAL NOT TO DEATHCORE, BEATDOWN OR ANY OTHER -CORE GENRE

Perspective is all fucked up not to mention the sloppy masking work around him (the chain is being cut off for example). It's also missing basic visual concepts like Rule of thirds, there's no weight to the composition (ironically enough).
Is a terrible cover to go along with such a well designed logo. Some musicians are better off using AI for their art covers instead of winging it on Photoshop by themselves.

I think for whatever reason Hispanics are just better at separating the art from the artist. GBK is a good band, who just happens to be NSBM adjacent. You even see this outside of metal. why was Deathcore so hated by metalheads in the mid-late 2000s? I'm honestly curious. What was it?
I'm not a diehard deathcore guy, I like some of it, but like what was it? was it because it got really popular really quickly? was it because of the repeitive breakdowns? what is it. Like I can understand why a super kvlt due that only listens to Moonblood or Veles wouldn't like it, or a guy who listens to like Destroyer 666, Desaster or Nunslaughter, totally get why they woudl hate it but like
Why did the brutal/NYC death metal dudes hate it too? Deathcore really isn't that different from Dying Fetus or Disgorge.

I was in college when Deathcore was starting to get big, like around 2005-2007 or so. I had two older brothers who were both Death Metal kids, and I grew up on Staten Island. I was basically raised on Suffocation and Dying Fetus.
There were a few factors. For one thing,Deathcore was "new" or rather, it being in the public eye was new. In the 90s there were already bands like Confusion,Goatamentise, Deformity from the Belgian H8000 scene, Embodyment, and Abnegation. These bands were very small and obscure though, only hardcore kids, and a few metalheads that also liked hardcore knew about them.
In the 2000s Deathcore got fucking huge, like Job for a cowboy, and despised icon were the first to break, those bands were massive for extreme music. When those bands were big, a lot of outsiders, who didn't typically listen to Death Metal (or metal in general) starting going to shows and shit. It was weird, these kids weren't really "hardcore kids" they were there own thing. I know because I had Hardcore kid friends who also hated them.
But yeah I think the main reason Metalheads hated on it was because it got too popular, and because the bands themselves didn't really feel metal, a lot of them dressed like scene kids. Metal is a fashion based subculture first and foremost, so that was a big turnoff. Jdawg calls it "twinkcore" for a reason, people would call all those bands gay a lot.

I only really like 90s Deathcore.
I think everything after 2001 or so fucking sucks
Metalcore in general got really, really gay in that era, like it went from this really cool, fresh anti-commerical thing to like, basically buttrock in the span of half a decade. I will say this though, there's some cool newer stuff, I think it was around 2018 when you started seeing more retro revival bands, now there's the thing zoomers call "revivalcore" I like some of that stuff.

I'm also excited to receive my Goreworm shirt.
Had to take a bandshirt into the seamstress today cause the wash put some holes in it. It's gonna look janky with an iron-patch sewn under the holes (I decided to have the patch be put on the inside rather than the outside) but I don't care so much just as long as it'll prevent the shirt from tearing further and from showing my pure WHITE skin and thus blinding people when walking down the street. I hate the idea of spending $40 to buy the same shirt again when it's only got a few small holes in a 15cm*15cm square area, and I also hate the idea of just wearing it like that or binning it. So yeah it's gon look kinda weird but I roll like that. I appreciate when I'm able to repair things (or in this case have repaired) than just bin them y'know.

In all honesty if you're not a denim-wearing sludge metal train-hopping hobo, homeless, eating beans in railyards every meal, sleeping in moving railcars, totally BEAT, practical, pragmatic. My guilty pleasure these days is a blend of deathcore or mostly BDM and beatdown hardcore. Bands like Discontent, Final Resting Place, Anhedonia... with influences that bring back bands such as Entorturement or Scattered Remnants.

The way I hear it, it's almost completely unrelated to faggot deathcore, it's the beatdown part that's important and makes it adjacent to the other -core shit (because it's hardcore, it's beatdown). When you listen to Discontent, which is described as "deathcore beatdown" by the MA, you find almost no breakdown and absolutely not a single 'bleagh". The riffs are groovy as fuck (it's beatdown) and the vocals are clearly more on the side of death metal.
And it goes further into BDM territory the deeper you dig into the scene. So no, I don't think proper gay poser deathcore is coming back. It's a whole new scene, and an interesting one at that, with different influences and different codes.

>>130856427
Love Anehedonia, but Fatal Realm are my favorite of these bands, and yeah it's not related to the mid 2000s shit at all. Most of these bands are influenced by the stuff that come out of the New York scene back in the 90s. They arguable more Death Metal than Hardcore.

Why the fuck is it called that
>>
>>130856820
They were all very religious and usually straight edge. Holy terror is another name for it.
H8000 has to do with the postal code of a specific area of Belgium where most of these bands originated from.

What these guys said. H8000 comes from the west flanders (where these scene was from) area code (the H was added to sound cool I think) originally it only meant bands from West Flanders, even regardless of sound (like Deformity sounded different from Vitality, but they were both H8000 cause they were from the same area) these sound ended up being very influential, so you had bands from outside the area who were very influenced by the scene. Most notable was Arkangel (my favorite band of all time) from Brussels, you had the almighty Kickback from France, amazing Italian bands mainly from Emilia Romagna like Sentence, and Reprisal (my second favorite band of all tim, I have two Reprisal tattoos) later on these were a bunch of bands from other places, like nowadays you got bands like Faced Out from Spain, Martirio from Chile, Whispers from Thailand(who you def need to listen to) Xdesterx from Singapore,xForever Warx from the States. All playing this sound. Edge Metal come from the fact that almost all the bands in the scene were Straight Edge, well Vegan Straight Edge to be specific. Like others mentioned it was very, very influened by the Cleveland Holy Terror scene, Integrity and Ringworm mainly, but also by Death Metal and Thrash Metal.
>>
>>130850736
>>
Only thing that makes me not interested in the "holy terror" scene is they're vegan and I can't handle this kind of intellectual laziness anymore, even worse when it's straight edge. Vegan cakes and desserts are awesome and you should eat mostly vegetarian to stay healthy, but totally isolating yourself from the natural order because you're some kind of holier than thou literal faggot should be treated in re-education camps. Their message offends me.
>>
>>130857205
Honestly man? I've been Vegan for over thirty years, and Straight Edge for slightly longer. I got into it through the Hardcore scene, all my friends were Straight Edge and Vegan, I was in a Vegan Straight Edge Crue as well for many years. It was just the think to do, I can't really explain it. It was like how we all wore bead necklaces or chokers, or how we all wore baggy jeans and baseball caps. It was a trend.
All these years Later I'm still Vegan and still sXe but like, I agree with you most of the people in those worlds are fucking retards. Basically taking left wing slave morality to its extreme. I'm still Vegan tho, mainly because it's what I know, I genuinely have no idea how to cook animal products, and I'm not sure if my body would react well to it. I haven't eaten Meat or dairy since I was fourteen.
>>
>>130857139
Ooh, Reprisal i had forgotten all about, gonna blast some now. Boundless Human Stupidity is a classic. There was also Dyingrace from Japan and Children of Gaia from Brazil.
Kickback is also one of the all time greats.
>>
>>130857205
Thing is about H8000 and Holy terror stuff is that not all of them were vegan or even vegetarians. Some bands only had like one or two who were vegan (Congress comes to mind).
Personally i don't care either way, not a vegan or a veggie.
>>
>>130857228

>>
>>130857138
Oh right, i forgot he's in Immolation as well.
>>
>>130857246
True, and one of the biggest bands in that sound (though not H8000 techincally) Arkangel actually broke edge, it was a big deal. I was at Hellfest when it happened (I think it was 2001?) They basically got jumped and robbed. It was a different time. I stopped going to Hellfest in 2004, and basically left the Hardcore scene. I started just listening to Metal.
>>130857243
Reprisal, my god I love them. I got to see them live twice, in 2000 and 2003 (in Belgium, and Italy) my only two times I've been to europe actually. Good fucking times.
>>
>>130857274
We had it good in the 90's and early 00's. Too bad everything got too preachy, which is saying a lot since many of these sxe bands were also a bit preachy, but nowhere close to what came later.
I think it was the guy in Congress who said they listened to both NYHC, Slayer and Morbid Angel growing up and wanted to make something along those lines.

Yes for sure. Shit was definitely political but not a super cliche, Pepsi HR department kind of way. It’s not even just that, it’s also the type of person involved in the scene now. I basically stopped going to hardcore shows around 2004, but I’ve been to a few here and there , especially since covid was over. There seems to be a huge number of like, borderline juggalo types are hardcore shows now. I think zoomers call it, Rick and Morty bong people or something? Like kinda White Trash, face tattoos, terrible haircuts, looks like they’d be at a suicide boys gig. There all fat and overweight too lol , which is weird to me, hardcore was very much connected to fitness and health back in the day. You see a lot of these guys at certain types of metal shows too unfortunately, like maggot stomp death metal, or slam shows. Also, there’s the mall goth looking girls, I’m not sure what the zoomer term is for them. There everywhere now, in both scenes.

You should start small with eggs. Since you don't consume intoxicants you largely have the capital to buy free-range organic eggs, if you can't adopt hens.
I had a girlfriend who was a long-time vegan. We're all glad she isn't anymore. Not a big meat gobbler at all, just looks healthy and can think straight now. She took hens in her backyard for the eggs, probably her doctor told her she was in the late stage of turning into a ghost.
Straight Edge I don't think much about it, but I think veganism is peak degeneracy. Not in the right-wing sense of "disgusting" but in the left-wing sense of "it's the downfall of society that brought you here".
>>
>>130857570
>>130854194
Honestly man, I fucking miss this shit. Black Metal is negative fucking music, or rather, it's dark music by it's nature. The Funderground has basically ruined that. It's gayed the scene up to such a degree, my god it's embarrassing. Like that one fat goth bitch on youtube (is it Chambergraves) people like her should NOT listen to black metal, or even know what it fucking is.
Black Metal shouldn't be about being friends, or fun or anything like that. It should be antisocial, antagonistic and atavistic. That's why most RABM sucks, leftists can't make good black metal, because there very nature is imcompatiable with it.
>>
>>130857504
Tell me about it, clowns all of them.
I blame emos and peace punk hippies for the downfall (aka people who take everything way too seriously and forget to live a little).
I also don't know, i was never part of the hardcore scene, just used to hang out with a bunch of skaters who listened to old hardcore and crossover. It's how i got into it. I showed them thrash, speed and death metal, and they gave me all the cool hardcore stuff.

People trying to separate Slam from hardcore are retarded, despite some minor differences they are the same fucking thing and I'm tired of pretending they're different genres

Syncopated jumpdafukup chugging from some downtuned guitar with zero mids, accompanied by a pingy trash can. They all go the same tempo, same rhythms, zero sense of melody whatsoever because it's all purely for the sake the 'grewwwve'. Fun for like 5 minutes before becoming white noise.

Oh yeah man, It was around that time, the mid 2000s when MCR and the whole Mall Emo, and Mall pop punk thing got big, hot topic shifted from Korn and Slipknot to MCR and Taking back sunday, and also around this time Metalcore starting getting more attention, you had bands like Killswitch Engage (I actually like there first album) and others getting big in the mainstream. Myspace in 2005 sealed the deal.
>>130857689
>I also don't know, i was never part of the hardcore scene, just used to hang out with a bunch of skaters who listened to old hardcore and crossover. It's how i got into it. I showed them thrash, speed and death metal, and they gave me all the cool hardcore stuff.
For sure man. I'm a lifelong skater, infact I'd say that getting into Hardcore, Punk and Crossover went hand and hand with Skateboarding for me. We'd go to the skate-park and hear the slightly older kids blasting Crumbsuckers, or D.R.I., or even Cro Mags on there boom boxes. This was the late 80s. I got into Metal, after already being into Hardcore for a few years. I had a neighbor who was a few years older than me, who showed me Scream Bloody Gore, and Celtic Frost's Morbid Tales. That must have been 1989.
>>130857689
>I mean i drink every now and then, but i keep in shape too, going fishing and hiking a lot (not much else to do where i live).
Yeah thats all really good. I'm talking mostly about the Youth Crew world that I came from. Lifting weights, being active it was very focused on those things. Straight edge, and the whole veganism thing was also connected to that, as was the hare Krishna thing.

Good question tranime anon. It's bascially a term for the modern metal scene, not just black metal (although It was largely coined by Black Metal people) it refers to how the modern scene is basicaly full of a bunch of fucking goofs, jokers, hoagies and former twinkcore fags who think everything is a fucking joke, wear ironic dad hats, and smoke shitty weed.
Picrel is a prime example of a "Fundergrounder" noted Youtube animator, MeatCanyon (power word Hunter August Hancock) In my experance these guys usally have mullets, or weird perms, mustaches or milllenial esque beards. Most of them have shitty tattoos, and bigger tits than there girlfriend. Maggot stomp and 20 buck spin are the main funderground labels.

I never really followed what was going on, i just know that suddenly these fucking emos (or hipsters) were everywhere. And started to dictate to everyone what to think, what to listen to, what to wear and how to cut their fucking hair.
>Skate stuff
It was pretty much the same for me, older kids blasting these old d-beat and crossover bands. What we had in common was shitty beer and fast music, we got along great.

>youth crew, hare krishna
That was always weird to me, but most of the people were good people, with the few exceptions of the overly political retards that made everything about politics, no matter what (but thankfully there was not that many of them back then, and most people avoided them like the plague).
The early metalcore scene was a perfect example that SxE, non-Sxe, vegans, meat eaters, punks, metalheads (heck even the indie pop/synthpop people) and so on could get along. It has only gotten worse, sadly.
>>
>>130857970
Music people are funny though in that like, despite disparaging labels for this group & that group, nobody ever actually does anything to harm the other; and if they did, that would be so insanely faggy you can't even imagine it because, after all, it would be over... music lol.

Honestly whenever I see people writing about this stuff online, it makes me think that they're really more interested in the social side of scenes than the music itself; which is fine, I mean, everybody wants to feel included or a part of something or valued or loved or some shit; but it's just like, idk, it's funny and entertaining if you're someone on the sidelines who just likes to watch it all

Honestly The funderground faggots seem to be involved in everything now. Even outside the music scene, it's weird. I work at a vape shop in mid sized city in Ohio, in the 2000s we used to have a lot of the standard, garden variety wiggers. Nothing Crazy, you know like the standard, boring wigger that everyone knows or has known here and there. I noticed around ten or so years ago, said wiggers began evolving into something else. A lot of those guys started wearing like Darkthorne shirts, and pretending to like Metal. What was it? was it because of gay as trap metal shit like ghostmane or whatever, was it that lords of choas movie?

Its crazy that Gauntlet Ring and Fellwinter are gonna be called Diapershitter core by shizos on this shithole in twenty or thirty years.
It's even crazier to think that I'm probably still gonna be here. I've been on this site for twenty years, twenty more isn't unrealistic.

You might've failed at life grandpa. You're supposed to leave before you turn 30. Can't say I'm any better though, I'm not productive.

I'll be sixty next May.

I don't believe you, post hand

Honestly It's sad as fuck that I just turned thirty, and I'm still on this fucking website, instead of like, raising my kids, and fucking my wife.
Any other class of 2014 motherfuckers in here?

>raising my kids, and fucking my wife
Jewish psyop

Correct.

The reality is you would be raising your wife’s son, and in exchange being allowed to sniff her feet

Sadness is in the eye of the beholder. I'm class of 2006 and currently a NEET, but I found a girlfriend who doesn't want kids either, so that's something.

You sound insecure,poo golem

Yeah I meant 'beatdown' hardcore, not the kind of hardcore you posted which I entirely forgot about because it's basically shitty thrash
