are zoomers officially uncs now?
>>
>>130859818
Yes. But unc is a cringe term desu.

>>
>>130859818
he's not wrong. rap peaked in the mid/late 2010s and its main proponents are pushing 30+, or are bonafide millennial uncs like fantano who still think listening to it is a mark of cool youthfulness
>>
I find it hard to believe anyone could think trap cymbals are cool when you hear them in commercials for pet food. Then again, we've been in cultural stasis for at least half a decade now.
>>
>>130859862
fantano in 2026 is a hack, he keeps pushing olivia rodrgio like she is punk music but she sounds like disney music garbage for weenie hut jrs

it's impressive how fast hip-hop died when singles started mattering more than albums.

>rap peaked in the mid/late 2010s

I can't name one artist from this time period. Sixnine?

Rap peaked in about 1998. You don't listen to rap or know anything about it at all so of course youd have zero idea

he's right but there isn't going to be any further development of the genre. it's going to be hard stuck in 2017 like r&b is hard stuck in 1998. black culture is becoming a roadside tourist attraction like every other folk costume and dance thing. whatever dynamism it had is fully exhausted now. we're marching into an era of post-entertainment because the ruling class are talentless hacks who can't even manage the decline of our species. it's just too hard for them to figure out
>>
>>130864982
i meant in terms of commercial success and relevance. you being unable to name rappers past 1998 speaks to what an out of touch pseud you are btw
>>
>>130859818
Once the genre started demanding you liked it out of moral obligation rather than by it's own merits it was doomed to fail
>>
>>130864993
He's most likely not and you would label him an incel right wing nazi in your mind if you didn't have a way to leverage some kind of feeling of moral superiority

Rapper's Delight was the first rap song to chart. In 1979. Rap as popular music has been a thing for almost 50 years. People's grandparents are old enough to remember the first wave of rap getting big. You want unc shit? Rap is unc shit.
>>
What do kids listen to these days? Like in their late teens or early twenties. Jane Remover type of stuff right?
>>
>>130868431
>Rapper's Delight was the first rap song to chart. In 1979

This, the only reason you have all these 45 year olds like Joe Budden or Ebro who get all uptight at the idea that it isn't the music of "the youth" anymore is because 1. their careers depend on it 2. They can't grow up and accept that shit has changed since 2002 so they try and use the Democratic Party and other institutions to sway cultural power in their favor, which ironically in turn makes Hip Hop look less rebellious and more status quo than it has ever been. Rock is dead too don't get me wrong but Rap is in hospice and is almost exclusively propped up by corporate money and political/racial resentment now

was gonna say, how the fuck would anybody conclude 2010s lol. I'd go a few years earlier than 98 probably, maybe 96, but that is just about the sweet spot for sure
I say this as somebody who likes 2010s rap too. Some great shit in there but it's 90s no question

You are timmy mayocel I am ceo with bbc
>>
>>130859818
Boom bap is timeless. Anyone who hears it will start grooving and bobbing their head. Trap has never made anyone feel anything. The musical equivalent of a saltine cracker.

>>130859876
Because he wants to fuck her and hopes she'll notice him.
>>
>>130864960
The issue with boom bap wasn't really the production, it was 70+% of the verses being substance-free drivel where rappers rapped about rapping.
>>
>great generation: based
>boomers: cringe
>gen x: based
>millennials: cringe
>zoomers: based
