The honeymoon phase is over bros, are we still highly praising this? I am, considering I have alot of favs on it. It's obviously no Music Has The Right but I think it may be my 2nd fav album desu
>>130866859there are some moments on this I'm totally grabbed by every time, but also each time I come back to it all the cheesy voice samples get on my nerves more and more
>>130866859has some of their best songs but overall it doesn't come close to mhtrtc, geogaddi or tch
>>130866876Thats literally their shtick. Music and Geogaddi do this too.??
>>130866876III LOOOVVVEEE YYYOOOUUU
>>130866903yes, but this time it's just too muchshit's tacky to the point of being laughable
>>130866920I heard this.Oraaaaange...
>>130866946This. Terrible, cringe sampling.
>>130866859It really is a good album. The totally unsubtle sampling, like anons have mentioned, takes away from the record a little. I *get* it's satanic and demonic, it's just too on the nose. It's just jarring because BoC are usually understated.
>>130866859Discount FSOL
>>130866859didnt like it at release and i still dont
>>130866859Watered down Geogaddi.
>>130866859It didn't grab me when it first came out or now. Tbh sounds like it was made by someone imitating what a BoC album should sound like. Their peers have developed and branched out to new sounds and ideas while BoC has stagnated and become a trope.
Lots of very good individual tracks. As an album I'm not sure it's particularly cohesive from start to finish. I thought TH nailed that aspect far better.
It rips, it's so good. I've listened to it so many times. Sampling is peak on it
>>130866876>>130866946>>130867491I have to disagree. I found the vocal sampling off-putting and odd the first time I hear Prophecy but when hearing the full album I love the way vocal samples are used on this thing. I feel like they got less and less playful as they went along with the vocal samples, TH has some of the coolest sounding vocal samples in their discography but it doesn't sound fun like it did on MHTRTC. I can't imagine hating a track like Capricorn over how it uses vocal samples, or The Word Becomes Flesh and Father and Son, I don't get how you don't love those songs if you were a fan of Aquarius.
unlistenable. no atmosphere, just a random collage of discarded leftovers with rapping samples to troll the reddit audience. one good track: the single that sold the album.
>>130869701>no atmosphereSomewhere Right Now in the FutureActs of MagicMemory DeathDeep TimeThe ProcessI Saw Through Platonia ?>one good track: the singlehere you are crying about atmosphere while the only track you like is Prophecy? Something doesn't add up here, are you sure you listened to the album? Prophecy is one of the least atmospheric songs on the record.
>>130866859It's top 3 BoC for me, and that I never expected given how much I love their discography.AOTD
>>130866876>>130866946the word becomes flesh is kino
>>130869803
>>130870052are you hating on their cover art?
>>130866859electronic music is worthless if you cant party to it
>>130870101technically that's the inner sleeve art
Better than Fantano said it was, but worse than any of their other records
>>130871384I like it more than their last two albums. Also fuck melon
>>130869782Prophecy is the only one with an atmosphere you can immediately catch on, since they went out their way to build it out of like 5 different intros, building a tension that of course never gets resolved. you can argue the other songs have an atmosphere of their own but it's not cohesive. the "dark" ambience is ruined by shitty pop riffs or cheesy beats, the "post-synthwave" feel is ruined by clichéd ambient noise, and so on. sure, maybe they've always done this, but this time i can't even come up with a picture of the whole record (a general sound and feeling) in my mind.
>>130870101So zeautiful
>>130866859It sucks, sounds like the red alert soundtrack in a bad and tryhardy way
>>130866859they were always shit, wake up
Their best album. I was fully engaged with it unlike their other releases which are a more passive listen.
>>130866859My favorite album of the year, I've listened to it non stop since it came out. >>130878853I'm a chud, no wonder it resonates...
>>130866859I always thought they were essentially the most boring act out of Warp Records tbqh
the more I listen to Father and Son the less I understand how people aren't loving this track. The distorted vocal bits is some of their coolest vocal sampling they've ever done
>>130866859It's okay
it's second the best XXI century music album after Radiohead In Rainbows
