>ALT+F4>No Bob Marley threadLet's fix it. How would you rate Marley discography? Both overall, and individual albums?
overratedunderrated, too
>>130885838kekerinho
>>130885838Overpraised by critics, underrated by the public
LAWD AH MERCY MI TOE HURTS MON
>>130885886No Woman = No Cry
Bob Marley could be described as The Beatles meets Reggae. Prove me wrong
the roots stuff is nice but others did it better (ie, Culture, Burning Spear etc)the later pop fusion stuff is mostly boring with a couple of stand out songs
>>130886112>Burning SpearI only liked like maybe 1 or 2 albumsI wouldn't call the latter albums Pop fusion, though. But then again, some people want to call Nirvana pop as well
>>130885819They should have stuck with Skahttps://youtu.be/9lfmLPY_GyU
>>130886297Ska is overly simplistic
>>130886112>boringto be fair, you need to be in a certain mood to dig it. the discography goes in like 3 moodsearly - more upbeat, energetic, livelymiddle - more gospel, religious and chillfinal - more bouncy, catchy, and to dance for
You need a certain mood to get into Wailershttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyGCeLXmvzsIt's brillian in how it appears simple, yet when you analyze it, it's actually a complex structure
>>130886549Same with this onehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f470knkUgEU
>>130886579or thishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCKf0i_moOgit's similar, and yet, totally different
Of all Bob Marley cover, I really dig Sepultura's version of Warhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvBuS1LmeXIIt's very experimental, but it does nail the mood. People think of reggae as this happy go lucky kind of music, while reggae can be also very dark underneath and have some disturbing undertones. Sepultura manages to bring them up
