I'm learning Chinese and was wondering if you could recommend some Chinese language artists to try? At the moment I am listening to 王菲 but it's quite entry-level.

From experiance I've found that I can get the overall speaking and cadence down very quickly by listening to songs in the language. It obviously also helps with picking out colloquial terms and providing some exposure to the culture that is different to picking up a simple-language book or newspaper. Obviously with Chinese that's very different indeed.
