What is known by "Post-Grunge" is nothing but radio alt rock with questionable real grunge influence. When people try to argue that bands like Puddle Of Mudd are not real grunge, while saying that Candlebox is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake grunge as Puddle Of Mudd (plus the pretentiousness). Real grunge sounds SLUDGY, RAW, and deeply NIHILISTIC. Fake grunge is polished, radio-friendly, and a corporate attempt to commodify a counterculture into flannel sales. Some examples of REAL GRUNGE are Green River, Mudhoney, Nirvana (only their first album) and Melvins.
