>Twenty years ago, Radiohead released “OK Computer,” a landmark album that was profoundly prog: grand and dystopian, with a lead single that was more than six minutes long. But when a reporter asked one of the members whether Radiohead had been influenced by Genesis and Pink Floyd, the answer was swift and categorical: “No. We all hate progressive rock music.”
>>130891783Radiohead are underrated for their dry wit. So many of their songs have double meanings if you go into them looking for fourth wall breaks. I find the first track off Amnesiac to be hysterical for that reason. It's like a tongue in cheek acknowledgement that Kid A wasn't what people were expecting.
>a landmark album that was profoundly progNo it wasn't
>>130891902I think they meant in the sense that it was incredibly forward thinking compared to other alt rock bands from the time
>>130891902was about to say no, but when you think about it… at the time i was listening to "progressive" metalcore like Cave In and Converge, and Radiohead fitted right in.it was impossible to not like "ok computer" back then.
I thought they liked krautrock
