1999's chart is still in progress! Reply to this post with what you want added.

Chart ends on Wednesday. After this, we're going back to the '70s.

Great choice. Trial by Fire is one of my favorite metal songs.

And here's the current tally. Like before, there's so many one votes that if I include the 3's it'll be borderline unreadable from how small the text would be.

I vote for Metropolis pt.2 and Code Red

That certainly filled it up. I'll go finalize it now.

I had a lot of fun with this one. That Virgin Steele album's text is based around a Celtic typeface (slightly modified version of the font that I was using, I think they both come from the same parent) so I just ran with it.

thanks for your efforts. i'd be happier if there were more stoner or doom albums but i understand
>>
>>130971292
I actually was going to add Unida in there, until I saw that Vision Divine got a third vote lol.
>i'd be happier if there were more stoner or doom albums but i understand
Honestly, same. Doom is my favorite sub-genre of metal (stoner not far behind) and while I like prog and power - I just think they get to be 'too much' after a while. Only reason I didn't nominate much myself is that I've just been doing other stuff lately.

Always nice to see another chart filled up. What's next, 70/71 or 2000?
>>
>>130971902
1970-1971, or 1970. Haven't decided on how it's going to be split yet, but I'm leaning towards the single years for the sake of consistency. As for 2000, that's gonna start once we're done with '79.

Nice. That Acid King album cover really stands out among all that power metal.

Part of why I added it, actually. Well, that and the record fucking rules.

Metelyousum friend. There is two kinds of folk in this here world: those who appreciate the guitar GENIUS of swedish virtuoso John Norum and those that haven't had sexual intercourse yet. Now you got to ask yourself partner; which side of the fence are you sitting at? Getting my drift?
>>
>>130978399
never heard of this dude or I have and he sounded just like any other metal guitarist, link up his best work that's supposedly going to blow me away. hardmode: not because of his soloing but creative riffing. (Rabea Massad is one of the few recent guitarists that I've heard that's really great and Dagan Wilkins (motherfucker's a guitar demoist, blows the fuck off any other guitar act) as well.)
>>
>>130978542
It's allright partner, you'll find a woman someday, I know you will. Don't lose hope, lovechaser, you hear?
>>
>>130978563
I don't need help in finding love, women gravitate to me naturally for some reason, even doctors and nurses can't help but get interested, just happens to dudes like me who don't give a fuck or put pussy on pedestal and are built strong.

>even doctors and nurses can't help but get interested

I am definitely sure of that buddy!

>Exciter Records is proud to announce the release of Judas Priest’s Sad Wings Of Destiny (Original 1976 Masters), a newly restored 50th Anniversary archival edition that will make its debut in CD format exclusively at merchandise stands during Judas Priest’s Faithkeepers Summer European Tour.

>The restoration project began with the careful preservation and high-resolution transfer of the original analogue master tapes at British Grove Studios in London under the supervision of Tom Allom and Luie Stylianou. The newly restored audio was then mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios in London, preserving the spirit and integrity of the original recordings.

>This anniversary edition also restores the band’s intended running order, opening with “Prelude” and allowing listeners to experience the album as it was originally conceived in 1976.

>“There have been numerous releases and reissues over the decades by different companies in different territories,” said Michael Closter, Founder of Exciter Records. “When Exciter Records acquired the original analogue master tapes, we were presented with a rare opportunity to return directly to the source. By carefully restoring the tapes, preserving them digitally for future generations, and creating a new master from those original recordings, we believe we have created the most faithful presentation of the original Sad Wings of Destiny.”

>Premiering during the Faithkeepers Summer European Tour, this tour-exclusive CD marks the opening chapter of Exciter Records’ 50th anniversary celebration of Sad Wings of Destiny. Additional projects and archival releases are planned throughout the commemorative campaign, further exploring the legacy and evolution of one of heavy metal’s most important recordings.

Oh hell yeah. Prelude is a terrible intro to side B, but as an actual intro to the album it's pretty freakin' good. If nobody else here has taken the time to listen to the original order, it makes the album flow much better having Victim of Changes be the first track on the B side.

I remember gamefaqs trying to gaslight people into believing this is just power metal with harsh vocals, but they're definitely venturing into extreme metal territory. Awesome album, but not /trad/.
