I don't get it
>>
its just le quirky almost pop, its not that deep, but its quirky enough that people can larp it as being deep
>>
>>130971085
Aesthetics carry it
>>
>>130971085
they paid professional marketers to aggressively shill this garbage all over the internet

they're unironically jewish btw
>>
>>130971085
because its like rock o algo and supposedly indie o algo. I didnt like it

Genuinely what do zoomers mean when they talk about "aesthetics"?
>>
i dun get it either. a couple of their early EPs are way better than this album but are still just averagely competent synthpop. the genre has a ton of better stuff to offer.

"Image" is the greatest song of the decade so far, no big deal I guess, dear chinless incel contrarian.

Because most people are hopeless plebs.
>>
>>130971085
people found a way to rationalize they like synthpop
>>
>>130971085
it's qualityslop. people only like it because it's good

So hating this album is tied to antisemitism? Thanks, I’ll give it a listen.
>>
>>130971629
it's not even their own best song

stupid ape impressed by some spic crooning "OHHH MAI GAAAAHD"
>>
i'll be seeing them live in ausin in december, what's the crowd like

(i'm unc btw if it matters)
>>
>>130972023
Not sure what an event crowd for them is like, but their main tour was FULL of college age zoomers. I'm a 33 and I felt old. But surprisingly they were a fantastic crowd, everyone was singing along to every song and moving around having fun, really great energy. 100% recommend
>>
i hate this album and i love mercurial world. every attempt at psychedelic shit completely flops and she goes way overboard with the whisper voice
>>
Mid album with one of two really good songs is all it takes to immortalize a release these days in the internet music hivemind. Same with black country's ants from up, brat, etc
>>
>>130971129
you mean the cover art and the visualizers?

Mercurial World isn't good either aside from Chaeri

>>130973289
it doesn't have a single worthwhile song

My favorite of hers will always be Chaeri from her previous album
I'll admit I haven't listened to this as much as the last one

her boyfriend almost certainly makes the actual music; she just sings and fronts the act

Chaeri is the only track of theirs that actually feels futuristic and progressive in both a sonic/aesthetic sense and an emotional/psychological sense, something rarely ever achieved outside of standouts like Genesis

https://youtu.be/WizNXQGBMEk

Unrelatedly, I think I prefer the music video's lead-in that the album version does without
>>
>>130971085
I remember someone posting a few months ago that they thought this album was about bambi sleep
I kinda see it, but really it's just good synthpop. Mercurial world is good too, but imaginal disk is more polished

>Chaeri is the only track of theirs that actually feels futuristic and progressive in both a sonic/aesthetic sense
I completely agree unfortunately, there are a couple of others I enjoy, but not to that degree.

based

They're trying to move in a indie rock/80s rock direction, I hope to god someone stops them
