>Wow. That's not good.
>This image shows the tragic beginning of The Station nightclub fire in West Warwick, Rhode Island, on February 20, 2003, which claimed 100 lives. The blaze started when pyrotechnics used by the rock band Great White ignited highly flammable, illegal soundproofing foam on the walls.
Once bitten...
>>130975091I wouldn't ever go to their shows unless they played at a waterpark
>>130975091a box marked "DANGER EXPLOSIVE" being in frame is kind of crazy. i'm surprised i've never seen this photo in my decades of online tragedy viewing.
>>130975091The guy with the cig in his mouth was responsible for multiple people dying because he wouldn't let them get out through the exit that was reserved for the band. Real asshole.
>>130975115thanks chatgpt
>>130975091>>130976193Also, the guy with the long hair standing by the pillar was the one who suggested to the band that they use pyrotechnics. He served some prison time but seemed genuinely remorseful and torn up about the whole thing.
>>130976193>I don’t care if you can’t breathe, rules are rules!
>>130975166twice fried
>>130975115So it was the noise complainers fault!Hope they're fuckin happy
check em
>cigarette indoorskinda glad cigs arent cool anymore
>>130976193probably assumed there was a fire exit or whatever and was just trying to protect the band.
I met Jack Russell (singer of Great White, yep same name as the dog) when I was working night audit at a dump motel. His band stayed a few days. He came to the desk at like 4 am and asked where he could get some booze. I had to break the bad news that he's have to wait til 7am to buy warm beer or wine at the grocery store because of state law.He had sad eyes. Obviously he had seen some shit.Must have sucked going from tour buses and MTV to being flat broke and staying at that hotel. We were a straight hooker, homeless and druggy person hotel, lots of bed bugs and stuff and black people.
WhEre's MaH HuSbaNaasahhhhhhh?!?
>>130976486>died two years agoshit... i didn't even know that
>>130975091no
>>130975115>100rookie numbers, check this out
>>130975091The video is cuhraaaaaazy, they should show this to every kid to make them realize to never underestimate how fast fire spreads https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rO0ioCCiEe8
>>130975091I lived three streets over from the Station. Several of my neighbors committed suicide after this. One's face melted off, couldn't bear to be in public anymore and he hanged himself. Another invited his niece and nephew to fly out and see the show. His niece and nephew died in the fire, he also hanged himself shortly after. Another neighbor lost his wife in the fire (he was at work that night). Drank himself to death with some pills on top, a week or two later. Lesson was burned into my brain. I can't go in any building without scoping out exit points. If any place is packed, I'm fucking out. No band is worth dying for. The smell in the air that night and next morning haunts me to this day.
>>130975091You know what's weird, one of the owners Jeff Derderian got a job as a reporter for the local news station just a few days before, and covered the incident. He got only 500 hours community service for 100 counts of manslaughter. He was there with cameraman Brian Butler filming a piece on nightclub fire safety, coincidentally, when the place went up in flames. My schizo sense is tingling. What kind of insurance policies did the Derderian brothers have on the property, I wonder?
>>130975091GET THIS HOTSTAGE OUTTA HERE
in the video people started heading for the exit, after the camera guy gets through the surge of people created a jam that effectively sealed them inside. very haunting footage
>>130975091Here's the thing about that statement: it actually wasn't good. He was right all along.
>>130981149Pathetic. Watch this.
>>130987207>242thats minor league kiddo
>>130981896>all those people stuck in the doorway, when he comes back a minute later its all flamesspoopy
>>130976438faggot
>>130981896This is probably one of the first death/gore videos I ever saw and it still fucks me up I don't like in one bit
>>130987355There isnt even any gore, visible deaths or corpses in the video, but it's really anxiety inducing in a unsettling way.
>>130987336theres a guy that survived because he was at the bottom of the pit of human bodies when they piled and they basically shielded him from the fire
