Why is Japan so much better than everyone else at jazz?
>>
because theyre more intelligent and meticulous
>>
>>130992628
they learn theory and practice more. Seriously this is the reason and I agree Cassiopea is fantastic.
Listen to Takashi Masuzaki as well:

all of cassiopea's discography
now post your superior pianists or guitarists from American jazz, you wont.
the trumpet is not an instrument, its a children's toy. Git gud at instruments that can play more than 2 notes at the same time. Build chords. Not monophony.

Must is built out of chord & their de-constructions.

Anyone that didn't study at Reddit University knows this obvious fact.

They're not, but maybe they're the best at this kind of really accessible smooth / jazz fusion thing
Not that there's anything wrong with that

not jazz perse but listen to mouse on the keys and remember they play this shit live too

whether people think they are the best or not is not my concern. But it's a fact they are superb & overarchivers & have contributed immensely to the world of musical harmony:

They're not. Laughable statement. T-Square and Casiopea are essentially muzak.
>>
>>130992628
I love Casiopea but if your first exposure to them convinced you that they do better jazz than everyone else then you're a pleb

tell me your opinions on the cowboy bebop soundtrack and ryo fukui

Alright
Look since you're into japanese jazz fusion and Casiopea already you should least give stuff with actual interplay between the instruments a try
This one is from Casiopea's bassist's "Gentle Hearts" tour

fusion is just power chords for prog kiddies too stupid to understand bop vocabulary

Miles wanted to break free from standard II-V progressions, so he turned to modal jazz.

to you listening to music in the present the various movements of the past exist as a list of albums to listen to
in reality by the time fusion came along bebop had existed for like 30 years and there had been a decade since people had gotten tired of it moved on to cool / modal / free jazz and what have you

>>130994342

OP is right what you posted is way way worse than this:
https://youtu.be/eyWX6qCCGnM?si=vk1xK_-Z0R5s60Ey&t=127

I seriously think that they just aint ready to play instruments. Makes their head hurt. Too low IQ. Too much theory for them, head hurty. They are better off bashing some rocks together with their tribe while sitting on the mud. Civilization came too suddenly and was too confusing for them, we need to give them space to evolve a bit.

I love how the Japanese jump straight into the melody very often that's a sign of high IQ. Because melody takes more effort than rhythm quite frankly.
But you know the heartland primitive man, disappointingly is still stuck on rhythm they are mentally children, they think its a game not a theory, not a science still playing with toys dancing around the fire, theirs is the land of eternal ignorance.

As far as I'm concerned the Japanese own Jazz Fusion. Without relying on affirmative action or food stamps they just took the genre for themselves. All by merit. By ultimate mastery of the totality and tonality of the genre as if they created it first.

in my ideal world, captchas on /mu/ would present you with the trivial task of transcribing 5 second clips of random jazz recordings
would filter out a lot of the trash in this board

being optimistic about it, it could become like a lodge for people who truly care about music to discuss it. i doubt it, but this board is already on life support anyways. if we can't have music i'd much rather have silence than noise

way too easy to beat with ai

why do fusion people hate good drumming?

Its not that important.

Piano > Guitar >>>>>>>> everything else
Melody carriers are where the skill is at. There aint many good composers that are drummers. Like who. Phil Colins?
Drums is a pleb low imagination instrument. Rhythmic instruments in general are, they can be replaced with automation now. Melody however will never be replaced even if AI is getting good, its good but generic.

>>
>>130997627
the interplay between the drummer and the soloist is my favorite part of jazz. the way the drummer is listening to what the soloist is playing and choosing how and when to put accents is kinda like listening to a mindreader at work when its done well
>>
They kept being influence by Jazz after the west was generally moving on

and they did the right thing thats why our music is shit while theirs is still blooming.
