Mr. Ono Lennon says the internet has degraded the value of music in people's lives, since it's all widely available basically for free. He's right. Yes, it's convenient, but it comes at a cost.
It's like how taking pictures has changed. You would only bring a camera to special occasions, for commemorating something or documenting milestones. In the 1800s, people used to need a photographer to do it.
Now we all have cameras with us at all times, and it's great and useful, but photos undeniably hold less importance.
We'll never go back, but I do think there has been more of a push against streaming giants and for physical media, because people sense what has been lost.

Physical media is useless if we don't redefine the rights owning it gives you.
For example there's a tacit agreement for wedding DJs to assume that ripping your own record gives you the right to play it but it's not actually true.
But it should be.

Oh and I say wedding dj because it's a closed non-commercial Event which is a comparatively specific thing to have a paid DJ.

This is a useless random scenario. In the majority of cases, if you own physical you can play it however and you engage with and value it more.

Genuine talentless hack who failed at music and failed at social commentary

10 years ago I scoffed at this stuff, but now I see the truth of it. The internet was a mistake.

Art wasn't meant to be digitalized and sold like this. It's the same for 2D art too and even Video Games. It's all valueless now. If it would have never found it's way online we wouldn't have been able to generate it with AI either. While the deal fucked art as a whole.
