and also i fear that after a break from crafting one shots on a conveyor belt, i was clearly neglecting pro-l 2 as a source of distortion (and not).
smacking that at the end after the much more audible distortions, transient shaping whatever on your kick and snare blah blah autism is so clearly superior to just clipping. when you know how to dial it in and yk how the plugin actually functions you can balance that distortion wherever you want it and then go clean while maintaining all that loudness without killing the transient as you would in inferior limiters.
then round trip through the pre amps for that unmistakable colour real pros like me use

my projects are still in 16 bit. should i change it?
>>
>>131006386
yes. no pros are recording in 16 bit in their studios.
even itb the threshold for making a difference through the noise floor is easily reached and heard in a finished product.
>>
>>131006500
also change to above 44.1khz?
>>

no. 48 for film. above is for niche things that you’d know you need it for: scientific study, plugins that specifically call for it, granular.

>had shower water in my ear all day
>couldn't produce for shit
>time for bed
>the water drips out
whole day wasted

Jfc the project I'm working on takes fifteen minutes to render and I have to turn off the master while I'm working on it or my CPU melts. The last 5% of polish is so cancer.

u shoulda printed earlier

There is just a lot of automation and gullfoss and shit is super heavy.
>>
>>131007007
gulfoss is garbo but if you really need it you should print everything else that’s using cpu
>>
>>131007039
It mostly is. Some stuff sounds better with the phase instability you get from leaving it in midi. I'm using consoleH for summing because I don't like the clinical DAW sound so you don't want to send stuff through there too many times. Also if gullfoss is good enough for timofey reznikov it's good enough for me. I just use it with very mild settings to squeeze out some extra depth.

and the preamps aren't even expensive if you're smart with what you buy. casual manchildren waste years falling for affiliate marketers shilling weak ass plugins. time is money. it's a joke how easy it is to get a great sound when you're enlightened. you don't even need to learn jazz chord inversions but there's nothing stopping you from learning that too if you're not retarded.
