Youth oriented music is made by young artists. There is an entire world beyond what the kids are listening to. Hell, even in youth oriented music, Oklo had the biggest album of her career last year while 34 and pregnant.

Because all that matters in mainstream pop and rock music is that you are young and good looking. There are plenty of artists outside of mainstream music who have peaked at an older age
