looking for a particular sound
something like Straw Dogs, Die Kreuzen, late 90s Holocaust. hardcore punk with a hair/speed metal edge. not crossover, but something different. something that has the kind of riffs early Pantera had but in a hardcore/post-hardcore context. looking for a couple of mythical bands. the more obscure the better.

The band Direct Action has some songs kinda like this. You'll have to skim through their album to find them yourself.

biohazard

>hardcore punk with a hair/speed metal edge. not crossover
gbh's 3rd and 4th album have that speed metal edge with hardcore without becoming trash

id rec checking out Prong. They were doing groove metal before pantera. Althougj, they had the thrash influence from the get-go, the band has very eclectic influences going from post-punk, post-hardcore and industrial

I'm actually a Prong fan but thanks. At least the first three albums, Primitive Origins through Prove You Wrong. After that they sucked.
