Rivers is a masterful guitarist and literally no one ever nailed power pop like he did where the metal parts are powerful, the solos are classic, and the vocals are fun and punchy sang like an angel all with a great sense of melody. Its sad really. I heard teenage dirt bag by that one band and it comes close but even the rest of that album is much weaker than that song which would be the weakest track on Pinkerton.

Weezer was on route to be an alt rock powerhouse then Rivers made the album equivalent of a /r9k/ greentext and he spent the rest of his carreer chasing the normie consensus and failing. He released most of his good material since as demos while he keeps overproducing and making poor decisions with his actual albums. Arguably the biggest autismo in all of rock music.
