>Boomer and Gen Xers greatest hero is a talentless freak Ozzy Osbourne who wore eyeliner like a fag and was a drug junkie and prolific animal abuser.
Epic! Boomer excellence.

>>Boomer and Gen Xers greatest hero
He wasn't though, that's just what the production company behind the OzzyOsbourne brand has paid multiple media channels to repeat for the last 4 decades.
The actual greates heroes are Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Stones, Sabbath(the other 3 guys), Beatles, Cash, Purple, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Priest, Maiden and several dozen others.
Ozzy to rock'n'roll is whatever Backstreet Boys are to pop or Metallica is to metal. Just the corporate poster child, being propped up on a stick by a lot of people in suits.

Ozzy's music sucks and the best thing he's ever done is repeatedly emphasize that the term "metal" (as applied to stuff prior to thrash) is a made-up meaningless term and it's all just rock music.
>>

He always hired excellent musicians who made the music for him. He (or his wife?) had incredible talent for finding the very best guitarists and to make them play like they did. Neither Randy or Jake or Zakk would've made that kind of music if they weren't in Ozzy's band. Randy in Quiet Riot was boring. Jake's music after Ozzy isn't half as interesting. Zakk would've ended up playing some Lynyrd Skynyrd shit or something

>He (or his wife?)
It never was he. He was just an image and a name with which the jewess and her few father could work with. Ozzy had been enough of a funny character for them to push it to people. All he did was drink, do coke, smoke weed and swallow any kind of pill he could get his hands on.
Ozzy doesn't write music or lyrics, he doesn't play any instruments past a very, very basic level of piano and
>harmonica
Any musician that he's had in "his" (Arden's) band, he was introduced to by someone else and hired by the Ardens.
He himself didn't discover shit and crap, he's barely been lucid for the duration of the 80s, 90s and 00s.
I don't mean to shit on the guy, I liked him for the goofball character he was and miss him dearly. He had a unique voice and was fun to watch him sing live(when it was him singing, not an imitator backstage). He also seemed like a genuinely nice guy, when not all larried up and shooting cats or punching his employees for no reason.
He doesn't have a single song written for his solo albums, it was all Randy, Jake , Daisley, Wylde and the other musicians that the Ardens hired, paid pennies to and then fired.
Ozzy is literally a blueprint for a Backstreet Boys kind of a thing, where a bunch of business people scope out what the current trends of the genre of music they want to push an "artist" in are, then hire a bunch of actual musicians to write songs that are very radio-friendly and were lucky enough to have Ozzy's goofball persona to cash it all in on.
Americans especially are very easily programmed to like something if the media tells them to, and during the 80s, radios and magazines were constantly repeating that Ozzy is the hero of Metal music and eats bats and is the evil prince of darkness.

He was the vocalist of the 'first' metal band, gotta respect him for that. I never really liked his voice, always that high pitched wailing. He was the worst part of his solo band. Listen to Crazy Train and it's so fucking good until Ozzy starts singing. But i must be wrong about that because hes the 'prince of darkness'

By the time of his final performance (the "Back to the Beginning" concert in Birmingham on 5 July 2025), Ozzy Osbourne consistently described himself as a Christian, although not one who closely followed organized religion. Across interviews spanning decades, he repeatedly said he believed in God, was christened, attended Sunday school as a child, and didn't think church attendance was necessary to have faith.
