desu I don't really blame bands like Pantera, Celtic Frost (picrel), or Alice in Chains for going glam because they were metal bands seeking an audience, and at that time it probably seemed like that was what you had to do to be successful. The only bands I really fault are bands like Discharge and TSOL, because they had been great underground bands and then they became fucking terrible when they went glam, the definition of selling out. Obviously Pantera and AiC started out glam, but I don't actually hold albums like Cold Lake against Celtic Frost because even though the sound got a little goofier, the quality's actually still there, and they still sound like Celtic Frost.
