You can look it up, there are a bunch of things you could do to make it work for your specific situation. Boss had no choice in order to be competitive in the marketplace. The only way you can get a number of Boss pedal's modded by him now is to send him a new one. Nearly all the Boss pedals in the newer black boxes are smt now.
