What guitarist plays the most unusual chord progressions? I'd say Johnny Marr

Vai

they sound pretty stock to me

Allan Holdsworth
Robert Fripp

Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me is unusual, but that's the exception. It's not the implied chords that he's playing that's special, it's the way he voices it and weaves around any open strings he has ringing out.

Holdsworth is actually weird. A lot of his stuff sounds like bullshit to me, like there's no way this shit was planned out. I feel like I read somewhere that his recorded stuff was done backwards, like he did a solo first and would derive chords from his playing post hoc, but that could be bullshit.

That's because you have no musical abilities

I just read Jah Wobble's memoir Dark Luminosity. He says Levene was a guitar tech for Steve Howe before PiL and learned a lot from him apparently.

Are you actually retarded or just plain ignorant?
JM plays bog standard chords, progressions and pretty much everything else, only haplessly arpeggiated and with lots of signal processing.
That being said I like JM's style a lot.
PS, op...
You're
An
Idiot...

The voicings he uses are also absolutely run-of-the-mill, what the duck are you in about?!
