How can someone who is creative and into experimental electronic stuff connect with others whose minds are not fucked by wokeness and sjw shit? I tried discord servers and they seemed full of them.

That's a tough combination to find. There is however a subset of the noise community that are nazis. How to find them? I don't know. Just leaving you a crumb.
>>
>>131150121
From my experience, most people who are into avant-garde electronic music are more interested in metaphysics and STEM than politics.

That said, you'd be hard-pressed to find any scene worth a damn that isn't mostly populated by liberals.
>>
>>131150148
Anon asked for non woke and you immediately jump to nazism as the alternative. You're a retard.
>>
>>131150148
The total lack of creativity and imagination among the right pisses me off so much. I guess the closest thing would be the aspect into Jungian stuff and mythology which is pretty cool but they have yet to produce any cool music or art of their own yet. I guess I wish there was a scene like that where people were actually making and appreciating music more.

the idea that right wingers havent made good art is a leftoid psyop, many of the modernist writers and poets were right wing. as for music many of the punks and post punks were right wing too like the ramones and ian curtis from joy division
>>
>>131150367
I have a theory that there would be more right wing artists if they weren't bullied out of artistic pursuits by other right wingers. Art is so gay and a waste of time. Reading is gay. Being an artist is not a real job. Join a tech start up, become a welder, get any skill that makes money.
Don't get me wrong though, pragmatic workers are a necessity to keep a society running.
>>
>>131150422
Why would you assume Michael Gira is pro-capitalism lmao
>>
>>131150494
the left taking over acdemia and publishing and the arts is probaly a big reason right wingers dont pursue or care about art that much,

but even the fathers of the counter culture like jack Kerouac and William S. Burroughs were right wing.
It just means that the right wing artists who slip through the cracks have to be great

Ezra Pound was kind of nuts, I wouldn't call him a good representation of the right when he mostly just wanted to LARP that we needed kings and queens like medieval times

This.

The other thing that is always ironic is that so many musicians climbed the ladder by behaving in extremely power seeking and Darwinian ways, the same sorts of principles behind the things the right acknowledges regarding natural hierarchies and inequality. Yet for some reason outside of humble bragging about their status and banging young groupies any overt mention of right wing concepts is taboo.

an argument made against the left is that they're no longer punk because they've fallen in line with corporations (as opposed to the more obvious read which is corporations falling in line with lefty aesthetics without holding any kind of principles and purely doing it because it had cultural sway and made them money then they abandoned it when it stopped being the most profitable and safe option)

But here's the thing, even if we take them at their word and agree that leftist punks are no longer punk. Where's the right wing punk scene? It doesn't exist, they seemingly aren't interested in creating art, they're interested in whining about things being a certain way but does anything worthwhile come out of that? Don't confuse liberalism with leftism. Corporations do liberal virtue signaling with pride month and all that. I think the more interesting question is why alternative scenes ("punk") no longer function as alternatives to just being a normie who exists in some corporate structure. Not arguing with "left" or "right."

What I think is going on is that people try to actualize their politics, but they realize pretty early on that their political activity is very unlikely to produce the results they want because the way is blocked (and this goes for everyone). A lot of what people yap about when it comes to "politics" (i.e. blabbing about the opinions of people on TV or the internet and what's happening in the news) has become disconnected from problems that have accumulated. So out of despair at this, people go looking for other things to care about. They might find that in religion (hence the trad conversions on the right) but also fandoms. Or maybe it's just worshipping someone like Elon Musk as a tech god because they think he'll take humanity into space. Also if you're a young man who can't actualize being powerful politically, you can paint a map in the colors of your political regime in Hearts of Iron IV.

It's kind of like having an enclave or a survivalist compound. Maybe it's music or vidya or playing Battletech or whatever. But the failures of the political system eventually affect every part of culture anyways, and political / culture conflict gets imported into these enclaves, religions, and fandoms which then divide into progressive/conservative politics. And the people involved feel this invading threat either from what they perceive as woke people trying to re-engineer their enclave to pursue something alien or nazi people trying to do some nazi thing.

I also don't think being subversive today is about being provocative in itself. Being subversive today is more about being serious, consistent, and creating some kind of doubt or discomfort. Anyways I like industrial music.

Seconding the notion that it has to be created. And that one has to accept that it will exist mostly online, in relative obscurity, completely separate from the industry. Not much different than now, I suppose.

I must think: why hasn't any counter-scene actually emerged? And to that, I must ask: what makes the present system so unbearable that it must be completely rejected? What are the incentives to create something new?

People are generally not quietly woke. Wokeness demands constant activism and the politicization of everything. It demands relentless in-group signaling and out-group judgment. You will be able to easily see who is a true believer or at least posing as one. And the artists whose music is a vessel for progressive messaging will more or less be an open book.

Beneath that, there may be artists who make the occasional comment or signal, publicly but not dramatically. These, I believe, are sympathetic woke-lite people who represent a sort of outer ring. Collectively they are the key group which has the power to further propagate or cement a rejection of talking points, but because they are so vocationally and socially invested in what has been built here, they default to the path of least resistance.

Then beneath that level are the majority of musicians, who coexist in ambiguity, because they have either made that calculation, or they genuinely are indifferent. Luckily the woke still actually operate with some amount of grace here; no one is actually required to scream "protect trans kids" or announce their vote in order to keep their standing. You're allowed in the scene until a reason is found to kick you out.
>>
>>131164543
>>131164543
So it should be made clear that, unless you have already been explicitly rejected by the industry, or you wish to preemptively reject it, there is little incentive to discard the present system, with its venues, labels, press, the overwhelming majority of fellow artists, and the majority of potential fans. The thing is that you can always reject it later, but once you're more or less cancelled, then it's kind of over. That's it for your growth. And good luck finding people to collaborate with. People secretly aligned with you will pretend you don't exist. The nerdy teen who might be your biggest fan will himself have to decide whether or not it's safe to even admit listening to your music, because the music enthusiasts he surrounds himself with are also the usual suspects.

What are your aspirations? Do you hope to make it at least somewhat big? Or is this more of a chill hobby?

Basically, I think most of us with any talent and desire to share that with others are making the calculation to suck it up and tolerate this state of affairs the best we can, until it infringes directly on our creativity or sanity. It feels right on a gut level to speak up, screw the fear, and you'll see who your real friends are, but honestly? I don't think it's worth it. You'll pay the cost of isolation and of waiting for someone not insufferable to follow your lead.

In all likelihood, a counter-scene would pigeonhole itself and devolve into a 'based' echo chamber which brings to mind that failed alternative half-time show, or the lame cottage industry of 'anti-woke' conservative cartoons, because its defining characteristic isn't actually music, but political self-segregation. Even if wokeness miraculously loses its grip on society, it or whatever progressive puritan clique follows will always have a stranglehold over entertainment and the arts.

By no means is this authoritative, but I am very cynical.

I think the problem with that stuff is that it's "trying" for something, so it just sounds goofy. It's not authentic. But compare that to Nick Fuentes. He's not a musician but I mean as a creative person, he doesn't take himself too seriously (like MDE when they're good). You can give yourself permission to be goofy or lean into your creative license with impunity. Why not? Life's too short anyways. And have fun with it. Not caring about looking cool is cool. Everything seems silly if you overanalyze it and worrying about being cool is the easiest way to not be cool.

pretty much this. and when you've repressed that need to speak up for so long all you want to do is write TKD on the cover of your album, which wouldn't be very interesting artistically. once you've self-cancelled, all there is left to do IRL nowadays is playing in hammerskins secret barns and associating with those types of idiots.
clandestinity may be the future for quite a while though, just like with rave parties - so as a concept it could still be worth exploring.

>(as opposed to the more obvious read which is corporations falling in line with lefty aesthetics without holding any kind of principles and purely doing it because it had cultural sway and made them money then they abandoned it when it stopped being the most profitable and safe option)
If you spend 10-15 years hiring people into your business who wholeheartedly believe in leftist principles, you aren't going to be able to just throw those "principles" away the moment they become inconvenient
I'd say something like video game development is a really obvious example, partially because most people working in that field are too immature to not sperg about their politics online and piss off their fanbases.
This cope is usually brought out by leftists because they view language not as a means to communicate ideas or to relate to others but as a tool that gets them what they want. No matter what, they will always position themselves as outsiders or counterculture purely because they gain more power in their own circles by doing so, regardless of whether it's true or not

Right Wing creatives are not hard to find. Right Wing "Artsy" is hard to find. I think Right Wing people are more openly critical and less open minded, but generally that makes for more concretely interesting work than like prizing open mindedness and agreeableness above all, as in no one challenge anyone elses delusions about themselves, which seems to me what the modern "arty" left value.

The main barriers as I see it are as follows. For one there is the huge influence of conservative Christian culture on the right which keeps it from exploring things conducive to creativity like different states of consciouness, psychedelics, and just openness in general.

The other thing is that the right tends to default to cringe garbage like Tom Macdonald or others like that Zuby guy. Basically anyone with the shittiest rehashed art but who repeats right wing talking points.

These things make the right not very fertile for true creative scenes to flourish.

This makes me think that perhaps one way forward is in the more "pagan" ancient greek jungian sort of stuff taking place since it tends to include a lot of the things are common to most creative scenes.
>>
right wingers are individualist often times, or have antisocial tendencies that are not conducive to collaboration, and the populist right winger has lowbrow tastes

its produced some shitty memes, cults like incels or groypers, and is used as a tool by oligarchs to manipulate internet virgins. your average american right winger will consume dogshit kid rock toby keith tier country or ai jeet slop as we saw with we are charlie kirk. hard to create a real artistic renaissance when you play in that sand box. the artistic ones get ostracized because theyre usually too weird/esoteric for this crowd (see ariel pink etc)

Having a strong belief in what you're doing helps. Taking strong aesthetic positions or having some righteous scorn for something. Also a lot of right wingers tend to have feelings of "having it out" with the modern world, and that was definitely true in the case of a lot of very reactionary writers in the 20th century. In music that's really overt in black metal. I'm not really political either way but the idea (so common on the left) that "good art" can only express a "progressive" point of view is really wrong.

>>131169482
>For one there is the huge influence of conservative Christian culture on the right
Yeah I think that's a big aspect. Actually I think a problem there is that a lot of conservative Christian culture is bound up in scams and con artists. It's someone trying to sell you something which shows up in inauthenticity. Contemporary Christian rock (or whatever) promoters have some of the worst reputations in the business for trying to run scams on venues.

>This makes me think that perhaps one way forward is in the more "pagan" ancient greek jungian sort of stuff taking place since it tends to include a lot of the things are common to most creative scenes.
War/military stuff as well. Ernst Junger-tier stuff. In Ukraine there's Azov which emerged from the hard right and now is this division-sized force, and they have a lot of wild futurist aesthetics:

This video perfectly encapsulates the hypocrisy of liberal arts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbc9OkaFBPA

Your "art" is not transgressive, nor counter culture and definitively not good. You are bunch of pretentious twats who love the smell of your own farts.

Johnny Rebel's scene was like ~85% Negro jukejoint sloshes who played his records as a joke; and black disk jockeys at 3:00am, also playing his records as a joke.

There are just as many right wing musicians as left. You don't even consider that we keep our views to ourself because we know that you'll essentially be canceled from performing and etc if you say that you don't want america to be flooded with brown third worlders. Fat antifa trannies will show up and act violent and ruin everybody's enjoyment simply for having an opinion rooted in normal instincts.

If somebody is not talking about politics in general you should just assume that we are not in your camp and don't care about your opinions or engaging with you and just want to be unbotheted by freaks.

T. A few hundred thousand monthly listeners, nobody would ever guess that I think Hitler was the good guy, I have long hair after all! I must be a retarded cultural marxist like (you).

Yeah they sold them an identity that outwardly looks like rebellion, it just all magically happens to align with what bankers/politicians/billionaires all want. It is totally organic, maaaan.

Every says Vaporwave and it's subgenres are woke-anti capitalist shit, but I disagree. It CAN have that bend, but the trendline shifted from that more nostalgia and thematic releases. If anything the lens for me is that Vaporwave and the various genres represent forgotten memories or the future of an alternative past, a sort of version of cyberpunk or retrofuturism.

>forgotten memories or the future of an alternative past, a sort of version of cyberpunk or retrofuturism.
all of which is perfectly consumerist and slop-brained, the nostalgia of the consumerism of yesterday.

Odd this subject came up. Friday in the background as I did a project a podcast mentioned that Sylvester Stalone, Kelsey Grammer and 3 or 4 other actors talked about how being openly conservative will really hurt your career in Hollywood. Kelsey said he lost out on several gigs by being public. That other RW/conservative actors and writers know this and keep quiet. That is the cycle we are in, the left are vicious gate keepers.

in a "what are you listening to right now " i posted an excellent Christian musician I happened on. Occasionally I will listen to it , like most music its usually meh, but sometimes there is real quality and there is a feeling that can only be conveyed by religious expression

Woke media is dying now that USAID is cut off, it really was heavily subsidized. That's how so much terrible stuff managed to be produced, promoted, moved, it's a complicated form of payola.

It had no pull anyhow. People trying to work inside the system while hiding their power level could get gigs but they were still dependent on the actual system, making them part of the problem.

Now anybody can make and distribute media. Ever watch Coven? You could make Coven in a weekend now, most of his issue was the sheer expense and PITA of shooting on film. The Finnish retards who made the space nazi movie proved you can do it with no money and no real budget ages ago. Music is obviously now dirt cheap / free, has been for ages too. But now you can get it out.

Nobody's watching or listening to the garbage they're force feeding the populace, not REALLY, not buying-mode. It's background garbage to have on while you look at social media or porn.

I joined a "bluegrass community" the other day. Online, not like a group in person. Thinking I was free of any political shit, the first thing I see is someone posted some live show where these fat hicklibs were singing a bluegrass song about nazis and fascism. It's so exhausting these days man.
