Thoughts?
too many non-rock acts
I hope one day I get to go there. My take for a long time has been that they should rename themselves to a Music Hall of Fame so all the pedantic "[x] ISN'T REAL ROCK" debates can fuck off and it'll allow more acts to be added to the museum without people whining. But I CAN safely say there's more good acts in there than bad.
ugly building
more like the boomerdome

Jann Wenner’s pet project
>>131193714Worth visiting, my favorite exhibit was New Order's synthesizer setup
I don't think I fully appreciated it last time I went
they aren't a serious institution and i lost all respect for them years ago for snubbing artists that deserve to be in
ONLY LEGENDS GET LET INTO THE HALLONLY LEGENDS GET EXHIBITS IN THE HALLONLY LEGENDS
>>131193714Based on industry significance rather than actual musical significance. A lot of acts that deserve to be in way before others aren't, and there's plenty that straight up aren't rock.
Tommy Lee has said he doesn't understand why motley crue has no connection to the rock hof.
On a related note, which museum would you recommend to someone who has literally not been to a museum in 20 years? I'm thinking either RRHoF or the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. I like both genres. Which gives me the best experience?
mgk had his 10th exhibit unveiled a few days ago. He's a lock for the HOF.
>>131196024Motley is in better company with Sinatra and Coltrane as opposed to the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Green Day. Motley won.
>>131193714The fact that Iron Maiden only got inducted this year should tell you it's a complete joke
Needs more rappers
They let Oasis in? Lol really? You kidding me dude?
If you're ever in Cleveland for whatever reason, it's basically the only thing worth doing in that god forsaken city. It is not worth making a trip to Cleveland just to see it though.
A place of worship
>>131193740It's hilarious Eminem is there but not the monkees>>131193759
>>131196986didn't know MGK was a modern sculpture artist
>>131193714Man I just drove past it an hour ago. I need to go there again sometime.
>>131198341To be fair they have a great ball park.
>>131193714I went there and there's no reason to go. It's basically just exhibits of the artist's clothing or guitars.
>>131193714the days of others telling us what we should like are looong gone.this kind of institution is beyond outdated.
you get cool points getting inducted
>>131198913I actually really like The Monkees but come on. They were a TV show, not a real band. And most of the Wrecking Crew people who played on their records have already been inducted anyway.
Immaculate
>>131193740this
>>131193714Shit building for shit music. Rocknroll hugely accelerated the degeneration of western society.
>>131193714I live near Cleveland and its mostly horseshit. Too crowded on most days. And there's a lot of great bands that got denied entry so fuck em.
>>131193714It's a joke because whenever they don't have anybody available to induct, they go and pick some band that was eligible 10 years ago and go 'hey guys, you are now in the hall of fame. Congratulations", when the only reason they picked them was because there was nobody else relevant they could put in at the time.In sports hall of fames, you only get like 5 years to get inducted and after that you can't be selected which avoids the embarrassment of what the rock hall of fame does.
>>131193759>they should rename themselves to a Music Hall of FameIt's kind of awkwardly broad. Are they gonna induct Yoyo Ma?
>>131193714 this shit sucks ass.skip it and hang out at the world's largest rubber stamp which is just a few blocks away
>>131193740truth nuke
>>131193714As a museum it's fine. As an institution it's gatekeeping at its most annoying. Think of everything you hate about oligarchic billionaires, and it applies here as well - a club for the well-connected, with a few cool dead people added to cover their asses.
incredible
Need more hofs
>>131197054Won what? Worst band of all time?
I got to see Kim Gordon do a show there about a month ago
