There’s no genre that has suffered such immediate aura loss as its scions age than punk. Even the boomers, embarrassing as Mick Jagger gyrating on stage at 90 is, have managed to at least age into understanding they are the establishment. You can look at the same play book being used on metal at around 2000 but it didn't work on that genre at all so online metal "media" which all popped up at the same time started severely propping up certain types of bands with milquetoast concepts, fun party boys, boring motifs, and were kinda edgy but not for anything of any substance.
