Neither really. I just have an interest in cold war history and he made a pretty blatant error regarding the relationship between Laos and China during the Vietnam war. I told him I liked the article but I was surprised to see him make that mistake. He replied with more information about Laotian-Chinese diplomacy, which was interesting, but which had nothing to do with the error I pointed out.
