Ya know I was like everyone else: jumped on the hate brigade, called them "gay" or whatever, made fun of those that did like them. But listening to them in 2026 makes me nostalgic and weirdly happy that I was alive to experience that era. Not to turn this into a "old good new bad" thread but it's almost refreshing to hear music that was sincere in its message. Creed were very good at filling their niche.

The only people who hate Creed are godless retards and they're not to be taken seriously. They hate it when music has a positive and uplifting message.

You were born after Creed's peak

You could get a great job in IMAX with all that projecting you're doing

they were up against much edgier music in hardcore/nu-metal, and edginess felt more authentic to the teens it was aimed at. and calling things with a softer edge or more mild or positive message 'gay or whatever' is certainly not a new phenomenon nor was it new back then.

The only people who liked Creed were women who thought Scott Stapp was hot and metrosexual men adorned in Ed Hardy and tribal tattoos. Literal NPC cattle.

not him but that's kind of the point. it was peak music industry monetization of teen angst via loud angry music mixing rock and rap to cast the widest possible net over a generation of adolescents. regardless of whether you personally liked them, it does make sense that, in that climate, they were not accepted like other bands of the same era.

never cared about the christian aspect but never thought they sounded gay or uncool either.
Hard Rock doesn't really exist anymore, Creed was the last real hard rock band.
now its either really light soft rock that sounds more like pop or extreme metal.
Creed's hits were the last hard rock songs to be played on mainstream radio. rock is pretty much dead now, in the mainstream. nickelback was always much worse, far worse singing and far worse lyrics. never got the whole "Creed was the worst band" when Nickelback and many bands since then are much worse.
i bet if you haven't listened to Creed in a long time they probably sound heavier than you remembered. i was surprised how solid Creed's music is when i went back and listened to them with fresh ears. their last album was actually quite good and i didn't even know it existed until just a few years ago so i think it came and went unnoticed.

Have you idiots not seen scott stapp on that poker show?
The issue was they're basically as authentic as televangelists

>Loud mixing
It is really fatiguing in comparison to the music before that time
>>
>>131221273
you weren’t even alive when their first album came out, what are you nostalgic about???
>>
no they were pretty much nickelback tier but they at least had the courtesy to fuck off rather than milk their one song for the rest of the decade. you're gonna tell me people listening to slipknot or system of a down or even fucking rammstein were going to give these cheesy ass twats the time of day?
