None of that meme-y ''nobody remembers Beach House bro'' bullshit, but acts that rarely if ever get brought up in any conversation online or IRL despite having had a decent amount of exposure during their main run. I'm talking shit that used to get a regular mention on the blogosphere and in music publications, shit that appeared on TV and in commercials, shit that doesn't have less than a 100 ratings on RYM, shit that legitimately triggers a shocked response upon seeing their name...you get the idea. The actual quality of the music notwithstanding.I'll start:>We Are Scientists>Groove Armada>The Rakes>Cut Copy>The Subways>Crystal Fighters>Com Truise>The Tallest Man on Earth>Braids>oOoOO>Balam Acab>The Stills
>>131264308I think grovel armada are still relevant to some degree in the electronic music world. I think they played Coachella this year for instance, which no matter what you think about that festival is a decent gauge for relevance.

Thinking of Neros77 and LuigiDonatello. Fun times. And yeah the non edm tracks are fantastic too. I don't know if anybody would remember the Castanets or Coconuts as much if it weren't for it.

I haven’t heard either band mentioned in casual conversation…. possibly ever in my entire life? Granted I spent most of my time around normie’s who will probably bring up Taylor Swift, or Ye’s latest exploits if they’re gonna talk about musicians at all. That’s pretty much what real people in real life talk about as it relates to music. Music nerds remember beach house but they also remember cut copy.

Not so many years ago YouYube would autoplay Space Song every third song. This, and maybe one or two more songs, have probably been caught up by the algorithms and show up on normie Spotify playlists, so a lot of people now know them by name and a couple of songs too, but they are not as "massive" as those numbers would suggest.
