How come Marr had such a lacklustre solo career compared to Morrissey? He was supposed to be the "musical genius" of the two.
Marr didn't care that much about making songs or albums he just wanted to play guitar. Morrissey has a couple of decent solo albums but at least Marr isn't a cornholing faggot who likely molested little boys.

Musicians are like tools. Only the singer matters. Morrissey use Marr like a tool, he told him what kind of sound he wanted and Marr obeyed. Marr is a talented guitarist but he's nothing without his master Mozza ordering him around
In general I think Marr just wants to be a 'nice bloke' in a band. He's friends with a hundred famous musicians and has played alongside many of them. Moz, on the other hand, is friends with almost no one but he crucially possesses the ego and madness of creative impulse. So, while they were together, Marr could write all these great songs, but without such a willful personality beside him he lacks the catalyst. This is essentially why every huge band has two guys who fucking hate each other, one or both of them needs to be an egomaniac for them to get big in the first place.
