Why isn't there anything like this? Not even Laughing Stock has the same vibe.
>>
>>131280388
that's just uneventful pseudo-jazz
>>
>>131280388
I really don't know anon. Laughing Stock is my favorite album ever, but Hex manages to sound even more unique.
>>
>>131280388
name a better album for a night time walk. i'll wait.
>>
>>131280670
>>
Man, I’d love to take a nighttime walk and listen to this album.
>>
>>131280388
every single post rock slop sounds like this
>>
>>131280388
Perfect mix of acoustic and electronic sounds, great songwriting and musicianship, deep atmosphere. I agree nothing else is quite like it. It’s my goal in life to carry on their ideas. Also, don’t forget their second album.
>>
>>131282312
Name one nimrod

>>131282312
>Rap guy who has only listened to Hex, listening to his second post-rock album: Getting a lot of 'Hex' vibes from this...
>>
>>131282312
>extremely easily demonstrably factually wrong
>gratuitous use of "slop" for anything disliked
>pretends it's not GY!BE that 90% of post-rock has been aping for 30 years now
>generally pointless
why don't you just kill yourself already

>Not even Laughing Stock has the same vibe
That's a straight up lie, you can just say you don't like it as much but denying that Spirit Of Eden, Laughing Stock and Hex inhabit the same soundworld is asinine. Also, pic rel
>>
>>131280388
I prefer Independency and Codename Dustsucker
>>
>>131282930
no you don't
>>
Their Independency is goated too. Check it out for I Know & all different things.
Their second record has their highest peaks, From what is said....shapeshifting....THE BLACK MEAT.....
but hex, hex with Pendulum Man and of course the goated ABSENT FRIEND.

Sings For Only The Lonely - Frank Sinatra
you're fucking welcome
>>
>>131280388
>>131282338
it's like a poor man's Blue Nile
but not even close to the musicianship or musical sophistication of Blue Nile let alone Mark Hollis/Talk Talk
songs are moody but pretty rudimentary and repetitive
>>

cry harder

Outside of the songs being open and spacious there aren’t many similarities between these bands, and I like the blue Nile and talk talk. Blue Nile were going for something very jazzy at times but generally cleaner and with more pop, at least on a musical level. If you listen to bark psychosis live recordings you can hear that they weren’t going for the sophisticated worldly “adult” sound like talk talk and the blue Nile, it’s more urban texturally, this didn’t translate very well to the actual record and it seems to confuse people into grouping all these acts together. Bark psychosis comes with a lot of influence from underground electronic dance stuff of the time, which the leader of the band would focus on later with Boymerang, this gives them that repetitive quality in songs like Big Shot, whereas talk talk achieves this sort of repetition by history of jazz etc. I would agree that Bark Psychosis’ sound is less “sophisticated,” but they weren’t really aiming for that anyway.

forget about the Blue Nile shit head and listen to Storm Crow Fleet. Maybe even Earwig or Insides. Perhaps the words of Richard Barbieri with Tim Bowness??
>>
>>131283703
Yeah I have better things to do than listen to a bunch of nobody’s lol but thanks

Always feel like this (and the EP before it) should be discussed more by the fans of Hex, Bowers Electric, etc.
>>
>>131280670
We already told you about Sunset Mission in your last thread OP
>>
>>131280714
Good rec

>>131283703
Good recs but I think only insides sound like Bark Psychosis

>>131283221
Hex’s production holds up much better than anything by The Blue Nile and I’m a fan of TBN. The synths are drums are so dated.

How come everybody and their mom knows Bark Psychosis now and Talk Talk but nobody ever mentions .O. Rang? This album is freaking monumental
>>
How great would it be to listen to this whilst on a night time walk?

Labradford's Mi Media Naranja hits the same spot.

Biblical.

>The rhythm section of Talk Talk (Lee Harris and Paul Webb) was resurrected in 1994 as O'Rang, assisted by musicians from Waterboys and The The. At the base of the new style is exotic percussion, along which the cello, flute, saxophone and trumpet juggle.
interesting I will check it
>>
>>131284244
Because good as that band is, it sounds nothing like OP
>>
>>131288031
Bark and Talk Talk don't really sound that alike either imo, .O. Rang is closer to Talk Talk but much darker. Bark Psych is the odd one out really, more of a futuristic project influenced by new sounds of the 90's like alternative rock and slowcore
>>
>>131284244
This is nothing like Hex.
>Uhhh but it's kind slow so it's literally the same!
kys

Did I say it sounded like hex? Go back to whatever grade they teach basic reading comprehension in you retarded nigger
>>
>>131288427
whatever you want to believe, man
>>
>>131290412
Well yeah it's implied that's my take having listened to all 3, do you hear it differently? I never said Herd of Instinct was *like* Hex I just questioned why it is not more popular compared to the other related projects. I think what I said makes perfect sense given that .O.Rang is primarily a project of Talk Talk members where Sutton contributes. Whereas Hex is all Sutton's vision, influenced by Harris and Talk Talk as it is. Like I said Herd of Instinct is the creative meeting point for these circles and so I would consider it a super important album if you like these artists! That's what I believe lol, am I wrong?
>>
>>131280388
Some Zelienople tracks have a similar vibe, although their style is more repetitive:

But yeah, there's nothing much quite like Hex, it's my favourite album of all time and it got me through some really rough periods of my life.
