Transcendent albums that immerse you completely?

I want to put headphones on and exist completely within the sound

These albums have been doing it for me over the years but they're getting a bit stale

that description is too vague

solid choices

I wouldn't insist my rec is anywhere as solid as these, but picrel randomly managed to grab me a few days ago

if you know, you know, so you may as well just move along and let others chime in

Great rec mate. I forgot about this but it's exactly what I mean. This album is "epic"

Natural Snow Buildings - Waves of the Random Sea
NSB are one of my favourite bands of the C21st and I think this is their best album. RYMers will always point you to The Dance of the Moon and the Sun or Daughter of Darkness but what do they know? WotRS is all about immersion in massive, uplifting soundscapes.
Also maybes:
Ensemble Pearl - s/t
Ginnunagap - Remeindre
Second Family Band - Conversations With the Dead
Birchville Cat Motel - Astro Catastrophies
Higuma - Pacific Fog Dreams

didn't mean to belittle Ritual, I'm just not sure if it will still work for me the same way the next time in a couple of weeks or months
something like The Glowing Man works every time, tested and confirmed

picrel is another rec
also properly tested here

hate to say it, because these are great albums, but basically you want /mu/core

im sure you can find the charts on your own, but some obviously adjacent albums would be:

nico - desertshore
jefre cantu ledesma - love is a stream
gas - pop
caterina barbieri - ecstatic computation
aine o dwyer - music for church cleaners

etc
>>

I'm not above /mu/core, it's snooty to look down on it, but isn't it like King Crimson, Neutral Milk Hotel, Animal Collective?

Still, I can't fault your recos but they're a bit obvious
>>
Am monitoring this thread.
>>
>>131288653
how dare you
>King Crimson, Neutral Milk Hotel, Animal Collective
anon these are the pinnacle of avant-teen posewank

I think you might enjoy this one OP, a modern classic and one of the most immersive and beautiful concept albums of the 21st century.
>>
This one is the most immersed I've ever been

She doesn't sing bad. She sings different notes from the key than the instruments are playing which sounds weird to you because you're not used to it.

>>
>>131289996
How often do you get Grateful Dead comments from it?
>>
>>131290012
Never actually, nobody under 45~ likes grateful dead
>>
>>131290041
Not true in hippyville where I'm from lole
>>
>>131288653
>a bit obvious
not any more obvious than Liumin or Stratosphere
>>
>>131287760
Going Places is incredible
>>
>>131288653
as the other anon said, yours are pretty obvious too...

for deeper cuts check out costin miereanu, jannick schou, second woman, oidupaa vladimir oiun
>>
>>131291236
>>131294554
Sure, the point of the chart was to offer you guys identifiable waypoints

I'm just confused why /mu/core was the recommendation, that's all

I know oidupaa and second woman but not the others so thanks
>>
>>131287760
that is up to you not up to the music, anything could evoke such experience
