How can a zoomer band be so painfully millennial-coded
>>
>>131288923
zoomers are just millennials but dead inside
>>
>>131288923
>band
>millennial-coded
There you go.
>>
>>131288923
Zoomers have no culture other than whatever they stole from millenials. Y'all grew up watching millenial content creators like Doug Walker or that Angry Vidya Nerd faggot
>>
>>131288952
this
zoomers can just rap and electronic

except for the faggy metal part. we didnt steal that one.

Cultural inertia
A lot of millennial stuff was very meta and relied on getting a kick out of remixing history. But there was still something specific to the era, it wasn't all just pastiche.

Zoomers seem to have lost any trace of a real world. They were born in a world that was purely made of images of past things and this became their 'material'.
Everything they create or build is from this borrowed past. It's not grounded anymore in real experiences, at least not as much as it used to be back when there were was still real rebellion, real causes that didn't come just from the internet or social media. So it all just echoes echoes from the past

True but you aint smart slick
>>
>>131289079
Untrue but holy shit you're a genius
>>
Idk. I'm a zillennial and I've always identified more with millennials than zoomers. During high school when lil uzi and juice wrld were all the rage I was in a corner listening to MCR and linkin park.

>Everything they create or build is from this borrowed past
Indeed, things don't just spawn in.
>>
>>131289079
There are many pretty authentical and inovative zoomer bands out there but y'all are monolingual burgerfags
>>
>>131288964
They're millenial-coded because they're ripping off boomer bands like millenials do
>>
>>131289263
>ripping off
>boomer bands

:P
>>
>>131288923
After zoomers got into late 90s/early 00s nu metal and pop punk, I can see Gen Alpha getting into mid-late 00s indie. Geese are just laying down the foundations for that.

>>
>>131289304
Glad this faggot is dead

if you graduated 2014 (without skipping grades) or earlier then you're a millennial

If your go to word when referring to artists is still "band", it shows you live in a bubble and are out of touch.
>>
>>131289530
I graduated in 2019.
>>
>>131289536
what should I refer to them as
>>
>>131289536
As a millennial I only use the term "band" for acts from the past.
I don't feel like whatever happens now could be part of that band culture.
It seems like a holdover from another era.
>>
>>131288923
I've been listening to the Sublime compilation album "Gold" in all those 44 songs there isn't a single one that is not miles better than this whole shit band Goose.
>>
>>131289601
college? zoom
high school? mega zoom
>>
>>131288923
6/10 Indie music shilled by corpos and Chaotic Good does not inherently equal Millennial. I'm a year off Cameron but don't forget on the older end we are still closeish to Millennials despite the shitflinging.

>>131289174
It's because the whole thing is in rigid categories. You would've been too old for """"zoomer humour""""" when I was still in early high school.
>>
>>131289048
>>
>>131288923
If I were a new band, I'd just have one of the guys go trans and watch the woke media slobber all over us, gain fans, profit.

I just broke it down for you right here and right now. Put the pieces together.

Playing metal would imply that zoomers could play instruments proficiently and we all know they cant do anything that requires effort ;^)
>>
>>131292262
it's just missing a black member
