um I'm not sure how lame attempts at Sister Ray would solve music but okay.

Sister Ray is a clusterfuck, these songs sound epic compared to that.

Sister Ray is goated but it's just one song recorded a handful of times. LRD took Sister Ray and made a dozen variations of it covering a broad emotional range. Mizutani also mogs Reed and Sterling as a soloist and had more technology to work with to make more interesting timbres.

While we're on the topic of Sister Ray-likes I'd like to mention Illegal Bodies by Simply Saucer. A little band from Hamilton, Ontario that didn't do much of anything. Released their only album 15 years after they broke up and it had this monster on it. I saw them live a few years ago and they were terrible and very drunk and just played americana sort of stuff.
