>Alabama, Arkansas, I still love my Ma and Pa, but not the way that I do love youThoughts?
>>131303308this song was based af when it first came out zoomers just too jaded to ever understand. it sucks now, but you just had to be there before mumford and sons
>>131303319it kind of sucked back then too. why listen to this when neutral milk hotel, arcade fire, okkervil river, the mountain goats, the dodos, the tallest man on earth and fleet foxes exist?
>>131303356I didn't know about those bands back then, social-media basically didn't exist back then. Not as we know it now. It was just a fun spaghetti-western love song at the time. I kind of think of it like the Strokes, where you can't blame them for the landslide of garbage that followed
>>131303319Absolutely the fuck not. It used to get played on TV and in random public spaces outside all the time. It fucking sucked ass. None of the other memed songs like Sail or that Bastille song got close to becoming as annoying as that one.Another terrible tune from those days was the one that went>Run boy run>They're trying to catch you>CHIKA CHIKA CHIKA CHIKA CHIKA CHUCK CHICK CHIKA CHIKA CHIKA CHUCK
>>131303427pleb
>>131303427I remember listening to run boy run a lot in 2013 LOL, along with Of Monsters and Men. Why isn't that band loved by /mu?
>>131303319>>131303308>>131303527wtf am i reading? why is there people actually discussing hey stomp clap slop?fags
>>131303418If you were on /mu/ back then you would know about all of those bands and more
>>131303308Jade was soulful afThose people could actually sing and play instruments live, unlike zoomersAnd write a proper melodic songI don't care if they dressed funny or were using claps for percussion
>>131303356It's been weird to see zoomers lump these guys, Mumford and Sons and the like together as "hipster music". At the time hipsters despised these bands cause they were watered down versions of the artists you mentioned. Fleet Foxes were the only band hipsters and "stomp clap hey" millennials both loved.
